Mod Edit:Discussions in this thread have taken a turn that isn’t appropriate for the WoW forums. Locking this down
Since there’s no holiday in August, I think this would be a good time to add an event to celebrate BLM.
I’ve been brainstorming a few ideas, and all I can come up with is a quest that allows us to participate in painting a BLACK LIVES MATTER mural in either Stormwind or Orgrammar. We can have Lorewalker Cho appear to tell us stories about the heroic deeds of people of color in WoW lore. You could maybe offer a prize, such as a free mount, to African American players.
Also, a designated spot where we non-PoC players can gather together to kneel in solidarity with our black friends, and in acknowledgement of our privilege. Please, make it happen, Blizz.
And while I get the intent, celebrating “people of color in WoW’s lore” seems like a strange way to go about it, since like 80% of the people on Azeroth are a shade of green, blue or purple.
I guess I understand what you are coming from, I think your heart is in the right place but it is very stupid idea because in this fantasy game we need to keep real world politics out, we don’t need bad controversial political things coming into the video game because it would just make people fight more than they already do very bad idea OP it belongs in my trash can
Can’t even FLAG it. I mean, people are growing sick of seeing politics in game. And yet, I’ve noticed for some reason that every time I try and flag political trolling here on the forum … it won’t let me.
Because thats what requests like this is, trolling.
I guess I understand for some people, doing things in game is easier/preferable to doing things IRL. If you have solidarity for the protests, get out there on social media or whatnot and let it be known. Cause the thing is, anything you do in this game will not be seen by the people you’d want to see it. Kind of a, how you say, empty gesture?
