Black Friday aint what it used to be

Personally bummed there were zero in-game shop discounts for black friday.

I can buy the newest regurgitated vomit CoD game for whatever-off, but lord forbid I save $5 on a race change for my characters.

It is for me because sitting in line to get into the parking lots isn’t how I like to spend my free time.

With so many places offering discounted or free shipping I am not sure why people still go to stores.

All the good deals happen after Xmas!

I think Black Friday will eventually be looked at as a relic of the past along the same lines as cassette tapes being replaced by CDs (for example), seems like it’s less relevant every year

And of course, normies being tapped out/low on money/credit cards maxxed out isn’t helping either

I went to Walmart and a couple other stores, and it just seemed like “normal” foot-traffic to me… there was no urgency or rush from the fellow shoppers, and most just seemed to be shopping for groceries and essentials rather than what few “Black Friday” deals were on display (…most normies just seemed to walk by/ignore them)

Basically all the heavily discounted cheap-o TVs were stacked high with plenty of stock… compared to 2013/2014 when I would walk into the same exact Walmart on Black Friday and the discounted cheap-o TVs would be picked clean - literally not a single one left

Also noticed road traffic was fairly calm

Yep. I need a newer computer so I’m waiting for when the stores get rid of their old inventory.

I’m in the market for a new tablet. Every store has this same samsung 64gb tablet on for “50% off” at $230, while the 128gb version is not on sale and costs $260.

Black friday sales are all scams.

I think these big companies rely heavily on short attention-span of normies, they know people will not actually take the time to whip out the calculator to run the numbers

For example, I saw a “Black Friday” deal on a 40" cheap-o TV for $99… but then I remembered the same cheap-o TV sells for like $118 normally. So the whole thing is kind of meh once you notice the discount isn’t even that good

Box Stores 100% just use Black Friday to try and offload their overstock junk these days.

They just had blizzard services on sale, and it’s like the 4th time I’ve noticed this year so they seem to be doing it every few months or so.

I think they realized people would buy junk regardless because it’s Black Friday.

Not to mention the deceptive sales practices of hiking prices and dropping them in time for “Black Friday deals”.

Normal Price: $500.00
“Black Friday deal” price: $750.00 $499.99!

Our tv burned up a couple days before black Friday a while back. We walked in to Walmart and they were literally on a stackout by the front entrance. Was the easiest purchase we ever made.

People still have TV’s?

yes, I was waiting to buy TWW on sale , never happened,

The xpacks usually go on 50% off when its half way thro the expansion

I’d wager most people don’t watch all of their media on their gaming monitor, yes.
If anything, a lot of people just game on TVs.

I got:

MK1 PS5 $30
Silent Hill 2 PS5 $50
Google Pixel Buds A-Series $60

There are still some occasional good deals, although I agree that they seem to be much more rare than in years past.

I got a Thermalright Aqua Elite 240mm AIO on Amazon for $38, normally $60, for a build I’m doing. At $38 it was pretty much in the same price range as a decent air cooler. While I’m not a huge fan of RGB in my personal system, I definitely notice that systems with a flashy RGB AIO sell better (compared to a standard air cooler), so that was a bonus.

The Black Friday price can often be found throughout the year now. Black Friday used to be about getting the absolute lowest price, hell you will probably see some items cheaper after Black Friday now.

I bought my family garmin watches for Christmas, and I know I’ve seen the same prices on their other sales. I didn’t get a “bad” deal but it wasn’t a spectacular one either.

Opening on Thanksgiving ruined it too. It was a big event that they stretched out in multiple days/weeks.

I got a 4k fire stick today at 50% + off on Amazon not too bad
