That’s a big yikes, epic store strikes again
Steam apparently is gouging game hosting prices, so many publishers are looking into alternatives.
If they are so concerned with price gouging, why not sell it from your own website /shrug
Too many people using this excuse to cover their get rich quick scheme, 2k is not a indie company
Good thing I don’t care about boredlands
Steam offers a far superior service and has a ridiculously larger audience. They are naturally going to charge more than the inferior product with less games and a smaller audience.
I’m not going to download the Epic launcher, therefore I will not be buying this game. I might have, even probably would have, if it were on Steam.
It’s not that simple, though I do appreciate alternatives I do dislike that they contract games they don’t own to become limitted exclusives as their only selling point instead of making their store/services better.
But I don’t know, only game i’m concerned about being on there is Outer Worlds
Not every game studio is Blizzard or EA, with the money or team to create a launcher. Just because one company is successful doesn’t mean they have the resources of the biggest studios. Epic is cheaper to launch from. Saves them money that can go to the DLC or character packs. If a cheaper solution gets me a Not So Tiny Tina character pack sooner, I say go for it.
Like EA does when they overprice their DLC and Deluxe editions of games?
Assuming the cost of the PC edition of the game doesn’t increase, what’s the big deal about buying something from the Epic Games store? It’s just another account I have to create and a password to retain. No big deal.
Not interested in Chinese spyware, broken file paths that use steam files, lack of services, and the list continues. I personally don’t like the practice of buying up 3rd party games for exclusive for PC, dangerous practice, a dirty practice, etc
anyone that buys BL3 on epic store is part of the problem. steam is not some exclusive platform that disallows games being published elsewhere, but epic throws their money around to buy timed exclusive rights.
developers/publishers are free to put their games on the platform of their choosing, but it’s scummy to find out they only did it because said platform bought exclusive rights to selling it.
I’ll play it anyway.
Oh, don’t mind the eyepatch and wooden leg
This exclusivity crap just makes it easier to wait a year for the discounts. With how easy epics launcher/accounts are hacked that launcher will remain off my PC for the foreseeable future.
I’ll wait till it’s on Steam. Epic is not needed nor wanted (by me). I am assuming that it will sell on Steam after a year.
I’ll just buy it for my ps4 and avoid all this drama you people are going on about…
Not a bad idea, but I really love mouse and keyboard controls for FPS games.
I love the uninformed who treat it like it’s just another “password” to remember. The launcher is so bad.
Guess I’ll wait out the 6 months. I refuse to buy games off of epic. Their store is trash
don’t get me wrong, I do as well. Very much so. But I’m not gonna cry on a WoW Forum about Epic vs Steam, and just play it on PS4 while they are still crying.
Funny enough, that’s a lot of publishers line of thinking. Steam overcharges for world wide releases, but the cost goes down the later they receive it.
