I notice that there’s some players who are bit toxic in terms of chat and overall playing the mode in general. All I did was trying to say good luck and see ya and have fun and some random player told me to shut up even through it wasn’t really negative what I say.
Are players this toxic when it comes down to Plunderstorm?

Toxic players are everywhere. With this being a competitive mode, the toxicity is going to turn up to 11. I’m sure arenas and BGs are similar in toxicity.
Hell, I had an instance where all I said was that I appreciate people using different abilities after the Celestial Barrage nerf and some player decided that meant I thought I was the MC and went on to tell me their mind. We met up in a few matches and they called me worthless multiple times. If you want more details I can post the rest, but I just don’t feel like writing out a book unless asked to (this is long winded enough as it is).
I’m not very serious (I do “cringingly” enjoy it and have a blast) about the gamemode, but I do like interesting fights, so I just don’t really care about the toxicity. I even poke fun at the toxic people, because I always have fun triggering jerks.
Edit: I know this is already a few too many paragraphs for most people, but one possible explanation is that our lives are so hyper competitive due to society that people get angry and toxic. They just can’t separate their lives from the game or something like that.

That person was probably having a bad moment and wanted to take their frustration out on someone else. Just put them on your ignore list. It’s better to ignore people like that. And keep being who you are; you’re contributing to a better community. Don’t let comments like that bring you down.

I am.
If I kill you, I will type, “L”.
Time and circumstances permitting, I will also teabag your corpse.
I placed first the other evening, and suddenly I have a tabard and an eyepatch in the next lobby.
Someone notices, and starts getting crappy with me about it.
You just have to ignore people like this. Report when necessary. Don’t let them ruin your time.

I have duck feathers when it comes to people like that. It might be a bit oily, but their toxicity rolls off me like water. Honestly, I look forward to these kinds of people, because they aren’t really good and I always get a good laugh when I can knock them down a few pegs.
But, thank you! I appreciate you.

It’s terrible. Mouth breathers killing people right after start, despite them being worth next to nothing and haven’t finished their Captain’s Orders. Seriously, just wait a couple minutes, let people finish their quest and they will be worth way more to kill. You will have a chance to level and collect spells as well.
While it may make you feel good to be a jerk and do that, all it results in is making people swear off the mode once they get what they want. And with less players players those queues get really long (as they have been), then you don’t get to play at all.
I wasn’t even aware that you could talk in solos during the match until a guy killed me and started to call me plenty of names out of nowhere yesterday. Took 2 events to learn about that.
Guess he was really happy to finally beat someone that the outleveled.
Dying in plunderstorm just doesn’t feel right unless I get teabagged.
