WW axe or bust
I would have to run test.
It’s hard to run test because some unknowns example for a ret in PvP.
I had a Paladin put on crit and ago/str gear with nightfall
Out come came to crit around 450 to 600 White dmg very little sp dmg maybe 50 to 100 crit were 1.2k to 1.5k.
Now shadow strike. Had the same do it with melee agi gear and stuff was lower with 100 to 180 life steal every other hit. So a little less.
Now I had him switch to spell dmg and crit.
White dmg states around the same a little less but spell dmg was get hit for 400 to 800 two times as much.
Point is switching gear for a weapons abilities help I test in duels have them hit me and beat me about 50 times per. To get an average.
Came out for Paladin in PvP true strike with sp dmg is about 400 to 600 dmg more from sp dmg. Some of the sp dmg was unknown some was from the proc. I will keep testing and reading logs.
I don’t have a warrior to test but I am sure if u mix match gear long enough you will find more information.
u must be insanely bad at the game
and im talking about pvp
2h fury is a meme for pve
OP was specifically talking about PVE but either way you’re wrong. And why is a level 53 rogue chiming in anyway?
2h fury on horde side can be very competitive in PVE due to the fact that hamstring spamming can proc WF attacks. Ally is a different story though…
BRE is the best two handed pve weapon in the game for warriors. Anyone telling you other wise is silly.
I will trust the people actually running tests on this before some claim from a 49 mage based on what someone else told him once.
The Untamed Blade vastly outperforms BRE in PVE.
Most bosses in classic have 3700 armor.
Sunder armor = 2250
Faerie Fire = 505
CoR = 640
Total = 3395
So most bosses will have 300 armor after standard debuffs, and you can drop that to 0 if you have people applying annihilator, rivenspike, etc. “Caster” bosses will already be at 0 armor (lucifron, gehennas)
In that case, the armor debuff from BRE is wasted on bosses (there is no “negative armor” damage amplification, it just goes to 0 and stops there) and you’ll do more damage with other weapons that have better stats in other regards. That means Ashkandi, R14, sulfuras, UTB, etc. Obviously swords/maces will be better for humans, and axes might be better for orcs although the axe item quality isn’t as good at this stage for 2H unless you’re R14 (severance and DEoI are great later).
If your guild can’t reliably apply FF and CoR then BRE is going to do more because you’re getting more armor penetration.
BRE is better for pvp and AoE pulls than other weapons, because in neither case will you have full armor debuffs so the penetration is huge.
But 2H fury is inferior to DW fury for PVE boss dps given equal gear levels, even for horde. Its just less pronounced on horde because hamstring fishing for WF procs makes the difference less pronounced.
Should also consider that at least for WCL the parses are for bosses, not for trash. So you can maximize your trash damage all you like but your ranking will be based on the boss fight where DW will greatly outperform in nearly all settings.

This is the updated BiS sheet from fight club. This sheet is based on actual testing/data from classic, not from what people thought was best from vanilla or wrong data from pservers. I have found this list to be the most accurate if you are interested in wearing the best possible gear combinations.
Your BiS is different because of human passive to swords and maces, just like orc is an axe. Equipping that weapon requiring less hit goes a long way.
Your GM is gimping his raid for pure min/max nonsense.
Having 2H’s go to the DE dumpster rather than providing a temporary dps is pants on head silly.
DW does outperform 2H, but better weapons skew the damage numbers more than sitting with inferior weapons waiting for every warrior to get 2 better weapons.
I roll on 2handers for pvp
This is accurate, but specifically for Alliance (Human) Warriors only. Why you’d be running 2h Fury as an Alliance warrior I don’t know, but that is in fact the list.
For Horde, with no way to get +2h Weapon Specialization to mitigate glancing penalty, the list looks something like:
(If Annihilator + Sunder + Faerie Fire + Curse of Recklessness)
OEB > UTB > Ashkandi > BRE
(If No Annihilator)
OEB > UTB > BRE > Ashkandi

Feel free to use the above simulator to get a more accurate idea of your performance centered around your current gear.
Horde orcs get axe spec so cleaver > all.
wujldint depend on yhour race?
If you have the time to go for BiS weapons, then that’s great. Good for you, and if you care about parsing, I hope that goes well for ya.
For the most part, I think if you get any of the “highly ranked” weapons, enough hit rating to connect most of the time, and you stay alive most of the time, it won’t matter if you top the meters. Things will die.
