So i downloaded this BiS addon to help track gear that I am trying to collect. For warrior, it has 2 build options Fury and Prot. When I look at the gear for prot, everything listed is straight damage mitigation +defense gear. Now from what I have researched, warrior tanks actually go for a mixture of damage gear and mitigation gear to help with aggro. Is this addon just wrong or am I just missing something? Thanks!
for Raiding, +mitigation gear… for 5 man, combo of both… but i’m not an expert at worrior, i’m a prot pally so its different for us… we gear for 5 man and off tank.
Are you using BIS tracker? Some of the information on that addon is not correct.
If you have Discord, try to find your class discord as they have an array of information that will help you navigate what is and isn’t BIS.
If you are a warrior tank and your healers are good, you’ll want to try to get a lot of damage gear for threat. The only thing holding back your warlock from mashing their shadowbolt key for those back to back 2k shadowbolts is your threat. If they pull threat off you, they die and the raid is a mess.
You need to find common ground with your healers where you can push the limit of your threat while not gimping your DPS.
Everything on there is pretty much correct but it does go overboard with +def. I got about 390-400 at max but most of the time I am running some valor gear in there to add to dps stats and I run a minimum of 2% to hit at all times.
Use more than one resource for research on gear always, also there are supposed to be ways to link from Wowhead to make your own BiS list but I haven’t figure that out yet. Seems like an unfinished addon. Also I think the tank necklace it recommends is not available until phase 3.
Ya i saw a lot of gear from silithus on the addon too. That confused me a bit lol
Each raid boss has an optimal set up depending on mechanics…
On some, pure mitigation is best…most of them you will worry about threat more then the damage you take. Depends on the rest of the raid and the abilities the boss uses
