When I open the game, I receive an error message, "Warcraft has detected that your computer is using Intel 13th or 14th generation processor that does not have the proper updates installed to address potential processor instability issues. It is highly recommended to update the BIOS on your motherboard to the latest version with Intel’s microcode 0x12B or later.
CPU name: 13th generation intel core i9-13900K
Motherboard name: HP 8A96
Bios Re3lerase date: 9/12/2024
MS version: 0x129
I’ve already asked the help of HP tech support and we’ve upgraded the BIOs to the latest version, including installation of all needed upgrades. We’ve also uninstalled Warcraft and reinstalled the game, but the same pop up error shows upon entering the game. Occasionally the game crashes so I’m thinking that this is because of this error. Please help.
0x129 is only the first 3 of 4 mitigations. The manufacturer of your motherboard needs to include Intel’s latest microcode update 0x12B which is what the launcher is checking for. Blizzard QA cannot help with this.
It would be nice if i could check a box, saying i read the error message and accept there might be issues if i dont correct it. I currently have a corsair bios and until they get off their asses i cant do a thing about it. In short im getting nagged over something only corsair can fix.
Corsair AI chat led me to the right bios “cap” file, I just flashed it, did all the resetting of overclocking, etc. and all is good. But I still get the error message in WoW.
If you’re still getting the error in game, it means your BIOS doesn’t contain the latest fix from Intel. And if it’s the latest from your manufacturer, you’re kind of SOL until your manufacturer actually updates your BIOS.
its because you have a older bios the one they want you to have 12b? is not availble from corsair but is availble from Asus or MSI except corsair wont allow you to use them…we have a propritary Overlay on the mother board that prevents it
