When I right-click on my character portrait, a list of options pops up.
Among them should be one that says: Bio.
When I click on it, a panel should pop up where I can write a few paragraphs about me or my character.
At the top of this panel should be a checkable box marked “Enable bio.” Only when this box is checked does the Bio option appear for other people when they right-click your portrait. Because it shouldn’t appear if it’s empty/unwanted.
Voila. Simple, easy to add.
If they added this, I would spend a grand total of 0 seconds reading anyone’s bio.
I do not want to read about your life story.
Just make a macro that says it in bold in the chat LOL.
This feels like it could be implemented with an addon, primarily for RP servers?

Get TRP3 and you can write all sorts of stuff.
It already is an addon.
I already know there are plenty of people who wouldn’t care about it, thanks. There are also many who would like it, and it’s an unobtrusive feature.
Oh, there’s already an addon for this. TRP. It’s much bigger and comprehensive than what I’m suggesting. But it’s also an addon.
Which is better than Blizz half-arsing it.

WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? WoW players want WoW to change… but they don’t want any changes to the game.

I think such bios would be funny to read.
But people could also put “open to questing with people” or “looking for friends.” Or their pronouns if that matters to them. Any info they want that would be socially valuable.
Pretty sure no one said that. We just said the feature does exist as an addon that’s 1000 times better than what Blizz would do.

OP doesn’t have much ground to stand on when no one told him “no, they should never add this.”

Obviously no one said that. That’s why I didn’t quote anyone but still put it in quotation marks. People were expressing only opposition and I caricatured it. This isn’t hard to understand.
