I suspect this is a dumb question, but I frequently see players trying to sell BOP items on trade chat. How can you sell an item that is soulbound as soon as you loot it? I have never approached a seller because I think it must be a scam.
they dont loot it. you join their group, they kill the boss, if it drops you get the loot.
its a really lame and stupid wait to play the game, or not play the game technically.

There was an awful lot of this happening with the Blackstone Ring that drops off Princess Theradras in Maraudon. It’s pre-BIS for a LOT of folks so the moment someone had put together the scepter so you could teleport to that section of Maraudon, trade chat lit up with people “selling” a shot at that ring.
Thanks for the answers. I guess that is why so many of the sellers are just level 1 toons.
Waiting for Blizzard to explain how this is different from GDKP.

To sum up there are a couple of possibilities depending on the item:
- Boss drops: These folks are offering the service of killing a particular boss over and over and you pay when your item drops.
- Chest drops: Usually from the dire maul tribute chest, but could also be from chest of the seven or even major domo’s chest. You don’t need to have a tag on the boss that spawned the chest to loot items from the chest players selling these items have likely already killed the boss and are selling you the ability to walk in and loot the item they’re selling.
- BoP enchant items: Pretty much exclusively arcanums, while the item is BoP the person with the item can use it to enchant anyone’s gear just like an enchanter would.

Nobody is being banned for selling this loot, no one will be banned. They clearly aren’t enforcing their blue post on the topic of GDKP. Yet you and people who think like you will continue to shill and glaze at every opportunity, pathetic truly.
one way you can directly sell a BoP item is if it’s in a chest. i see people selling tarnished elven ring all the time. if it’s in the tribute chest, all you gotta do is join their group and you can loot it
