Can’t send my Tome of Cold Weather Flying to a character on the same faction / server, but on different WoW account within my Battle.net account. With gold and item mail being instant this seems like either a bug or an oversight. Would like clarification on if this is intended or not.
Would love to see a response to this!
Same here we need a response as this will also impact heirlooms and I imagine a lot of people will be keen to give blizz less money if it’s working as intended.
Have this issue as well. Cannot mail account-bound items to characters on the same battle.net account. This must be a bug if mail is instant between characters on same bnet account. Need to mail the cold weather flying book to an alt.
If this is intended then screw the second account, questing on the ground once is enough for me.
Yeah it will be a big F U to people giving blizzard 2 or 3 times the monthly revenue…
Just hit 80 and was looking forward to working on my paladin who is under the same battle net but different account… this is what I get for enjoying the game and paying two subs…
I figured it was pretty obvious that BoA implied to specific WoW accounts.

Thanks for that smart a reply… if you cared to READ you would see a few of us mention that in every other way the accounts function like one singular account (instant mail, shared purchased items etc).
Why are accounts under the same battle.net account treated as the same account for everything except Tome of Cold Weather Flight and heirlooms? This sounds like a change that should have been made before making bigger changes like removing RDF.
In-game mail is instant between characters on the same account, so it is obvious account-wide means any accounts under the same battle.net account and this issue is an oversight. Arguing otherwise is just being obtuse.
It’s not the same account lol. If you can log on both at the same time it’s not the same account lol. You may have them linked to one email, but that is different than claiming it is account bound.
You know, this wasn’t an issue back in the day. We didn’t have “Real ID” or a Battlenet launcher during Wrath. Chances are, this was an oversight and will be fixed.
If it’s not the same account then why is mail instant between the accounts? Mail is only instant for characters on the same account… which obviously means battle.net account since 2 separate WoW accounts linked under 1 battle.net account can instant send mail.
Mail is one quality of life feature. Bind on account items and skips are not one. It’s really not that hard to understand.
TBH, the Heirloom and Tabard tabs from Retail make a lot of sense. Retail QoL changes exist for a reason…
This is not true. Bind on account rewards such as boosts, the mount, and the pet from the Northrend package are available on all accounts under the same battle.net account. If boosts are given to all accounts under the same battle.net account, then BoA items should be mailable to alts.
Also, you speak of only QoL features as if stuff being account-wide isn’t QoL. They literally changed it in Cata which is WHY we have had instant mail since WoW classic launched. Your mental gymnastics aren’t working.
None of those contain skips to content. Don’t even try saying boost that argument goes no where lol.
I also wish we could access our old Collectors edition rewards this way for those of us who have two licenses.
Bump! As mentioned above, for all intents and purposes “Account Bound” has literally always treated everything under the same Battle.net ID as the same account.
I think everyone suspects this is a bug/oversight, but is a very substantial bug for those of us with multiple accounts under that Bnet.
Can confirm this has been changed and now works across your whole bnet, item even now says bound to blizzard account.
