Bind ctrl to mouse button?

Hi , i have a generic mouse with no software, it has 2 buttons on the side , is there a way to assign ctrl to a side button to use as a modifier?
Ive tried programs like x-mouse etc , but couldnt get them to work properly.
Thanks

If you use your eye and press esc and go to keybinding, you can just bind that button to a macro and add any modifier you want from there.

So i can make a macro and keybind to make my side mouse button act just as if the ctrl on my keyboard would?
For eg for mistweaver , have my left mouse do renewing mist , my right mouse do vivify…then hold side mouse button ,click left mouse button do enveloping, and hold same side mouse button click right mouse button to cast soothing mist?

Don’t be a smartass. Not every mouse button is recognized by wow. Several on my Logitech mouse are not and require it’s software to function.

This is gonna be what I was gonna say. I use a Corsair Scimitar and I have to run the software to keybind it proper.

I do not think this is possible without using some sort of software. I use Corsair mouse and have to record a macro within that program for control. Then in keybindings in the WoW menu I just use control + button on keyboard. So when using the mouse, it plays the control macro from the side mouse button while I am pressing other keys.

Ok cool ty…think ill just buy a mouse with more butons :stuck_out_tongue:

There are a couple that can work to your advantage, depending on what you like. Some people say Razer is great and theirs has worked for four years, or five years. Personally, my mice from Razer never lasted that long.

My Corsair, on the other hand, works fine and has worked fine for about three years now. And when we’re discussing style, and overall feel of equipment / hardware, I am a Corsair fan over Razer. I was big into Razer, but Corsair just feels better in my opinion.

Other people, like the poster above, have Logitech equipment. I haven’t messed around with that too much though.

I had one of the older Nagas from around 2012 that lasted for a looooog time. The cord finally got frayed to death since I was so rough on it. (Used it on my laptop while sitting on the couch when my desktop was put away) It worked great and required no software in wow as the side keypad acted like the number pad via a switch on the mouse.

I opted out of getting the newer version since they moved/removed the forward/back buttons and their quality has gone to crap.

So far my Logitech G502 has worked great for the past year. It’s software allows auto profiles depending on what you’re doing and it’s a simple matter of changing the buttons to a keyboard key and then using that key in wows keybinds.

I’ve heard good things about Corsairs as well.
