Bigwigs Voice announcing both start and end of mechanic

When I was first setting up BigWigs there was a setting I enabled to announce things when they both were applied and removed, e.g. Risen Warlords in De Other Side, when they do “Undying Rage” it would say “Undying Rage” both when the buff appeared on them, and also when they were soothed

I’d really like to disable this, but I’ve been searching for months and cannot find the setting. Please help!

This is actually better than you think it is… the reason it does this is to let you know it has ended. If you hear it twice you know it has ended. Thus you don’t have to try to figure out which target to soothe.

I enjoy this for BWV.

I’ve been using it for a couple years now in some challenging content and it is just too much info for large pulls at once. Hearing it once is meaningful, hearing the voice say many things at once and I can’t pick them out.

Do you know how to disable it? (or enable it for someone who could benefit from it?)

Hi there, this is not a tech support issue. Instead, it’s a question for the BigWigs dev team, or at least something that should go in UI and Macro.

I think someone in the community might know, no? BigWigs/DBM at this point aren’t just addons, they are a core part of the game for most people who do group content

You would need to add it in the UI and Macros forum or contact the BigWigs author(s) as addons are neither against the rules or supported for the game. They are definitely NOT a tech support issue.

While true a lot of people depend on those addons to do group content, neither of those addons are considered a “core part of the game”, since that would imply Blizzard provides support for addons.

Just to add on to what Jetsum said: It is correct that Blizzard will not provide support for addons, and will direct players to contact the addon’s author. There are just so many addons out there, all of them working in different ways, it would be next to impossible for Blizzard to provide support.

Contacting the addon’s author is the correct solution. If you really want to ask the community, then go to the UI and Macro forum as Jetsum suggested.

This is true. But what is also true is that unless one is really hardcore about it this game is not viable for most group content without one of these two addons

I understand where you’re coming from, but that just doesn’t change the fact addons are not supported by Blizzard. Contacting the addon’s author or posting in the UI and Macro forum would be the correct course of action.

Simply put, this isn’t considered a Technical Support issue since it directly involves an issue with an addon. Technical Support is for tech help with the game itself such as connection troubleshooting, installation and patching issues, crash troubleshooting, and performance issues.

Where does it say that about this forum? All I find is this:

"Welcome to the Technical Support forum for World of Warcraft. This forum exists to provide World of Warcraft customers with a place to discuss technical issues with each other and Blizzard Tech Support staff members. While Blizzard Tech Support staff regularly monitors and replies to this forum (between 7am-8pm Pacific, 7 days a week), it is not meant as a place to resolve complex issues, because of the nature of forums. "

Addons are a technical part of World of Warcraft. I’m not asking for a complex solution, just the location of a setting.

It says a lot about this community that the answer is just “no” instead of something helpful

The helpful thing you’re being told is that if you post in the suggested forum, you may reach the community you are absolutely miserably failing to do in an official support forum for an absolutely unsupported topic.

No, they are not. They are, as the name states, added on as something a user controls within the game. It has been stated many times that addons are not supported by the game developers, and that you need to contact the people who made the addon for assistance with their addon.

The link at the end of that quote from that official Blizzard support article is the same UI and Macros forum Elocin and Jetsum has been suggesting.
