I’d say Jaina. This was me watching the Battle for Lordaeron cinematic:
Are you freaking kidding me?! She can make a ship FLOAT, AND DESTROY MORE HORDE THAN US COMBINED?! I mean, I get that she’s and archmage and all, but ummm why can’t our archmages do that?!
She’s died 2 or 3 times i believe. Once when Arthas killed her, once when she threw herself off a cliff (although I’m not sure if she actually died here) and once when Godfrey shot her
I honestly think Nathanos is worse than Sylvannas.
Guy has no real magical powers, no unique weapons or special attributes to excuse that he can hold is own againts Super saiyan Tyrande and Malfurion
At least Sylvannas has an excuse for being strong by getting juiced up by her dead sugar daddy. But Nathanos? He only has the power of anime and edginess behind him
You think she’s more mary sue when the writers wrote a terrible unbelievable battle with no counter to the plague when horde put on literally masks (whoaaaaaaaa) then Sylvanas just flies out of the root which apparently is glass now.
I can see Sylvanas being a Mary Sue character, but how is Jaina? She was taught by one of the most powerful mages in the world, but always restrained herself because of her thirst for peace. Her powerlevel has been incredibly high since pre-MoP when she nearly annhilated Orgrimmar.
A Mary Sue is someone who never goes through real hardship and always comes out on top. Jaina has come out on top one time. In Zuldazar.
Hearing the phrase “Mary Sue” makes my skin crawl. I think it is an overused phrase that no longer has meaning in fiction writing. It is often used by contrarians to hate certain characters because they are looking for excuses to get angry about and just simply don’t like a character.
I used to not mind that phrase until some fandoms I’m part of keep spamming that thing on characters I like. Such as Daenerys from GoT or Thrall from this very game.
I think it is just a blanket statement that has no basis on actual character development.
