Big time influencer addresses the elephant in the room

We all know it’s happening but blizzard doesn’t seem keen on making a change ( how?)
But with numbers going down and players losing interest and now it effects the larger player base ( PVE’ers ) it might be time for them to take a stand plus some other valuable info for the next patch

The issue is people are so addicted to WoW that no matter the state of the game people will still play. The big issue is the development structure of WoW. They’ve develop at such a slow rate, they don’t care to pay people to balance their game, and they hardly listen if at all. If they do decide to take feedback, it’s not as relevant.

They should be making impactful changes multiple times a month to see what actually works. Certain systems in previous expansions were changed based on what people asked for but those changes were implemented in the next expansion so it wasn’t actually helpful.

The turn around for huge flaws in any other type of software company would be a few months max, not 6 months to 2 years.

I honestly don’t understand what everyone at Blizzard does.

From my understanding this is what the teams are broken done by:

  • Art
  • Music
  • DevOps
  • Operations
  • UI/UX
  • Terrible system group
  • Boss fights
  • 2 people working on class design
  • 0 people working balance
  • 1 guy work on PvP

They’re in desperate need of a re-org for Warcraft.

Don’t think they even have 1 dedicated person he might be clustered in with the art team

you make a great point about any other software company and the turn around time to fix issues

the same can be said on the entertainment side of things, it is like having Netflix with one show over and over and over ( expecting the customers to take it and love it) and only getting another episode after the customers leave to entice them to return

why work hard if they do well (thus the game and company does) they get fired :D.

I’m honestly interested to see their org-chart. What do all these people do? Are half of them working on Torghast? Apparently more people than ever work on Blizzard, I don’t understand what all these people are doing…

It looks like Torghast was the work of 1 dev, sadly only 1 person in the cycle of work from home probably had way too many limitations, the concept isn’t bad at all but yep, Torghast is dead now.

Also, it has been said that Holongo came back to do “pvp stuff” but I suspect he, once again, has no real power when it comes to what matters (class gameplay) and he’s only allowed to do trivial stuff like brawls.

lol u think they still have 1 guy working on PvP that’s cute

If they had literally even just one person devoted to PvP development, it would probably be cured of this globaling trash by now and PvP would probably be dramatically better.

Nope, I’m waiting for Ashes of Creation beta to start. At least 1.5 years away from that most likely LOL. I like what they are trying to do with the open world content.

influencers dont influence anyone

I am befuddled by the amount of money WoW brings in with sub fees, in game purchases, endorsements, etc that they can’t have a more dedicated team on each aspect of the game. Pay their employees a competitive salary to keep the smart ones around and entice people with experience to move over. I get it, maximize profits for the stock holders, but at some point you must reinvest into the company, or before you know it Blizzard will just be another Atari.

Think it’s just pure corporate greed, they’ve found a formula that keeps people coming back for big patches or expac releases, and they make a ton of money off micro-transactions.

I honestly would love to see how much better WoW would get again, if there were passionate developers like OSRS, PoE, or other MMO’s that are big right now. So many of the systems, decisions, and features are all soulless. There’s no emotional weight or passion behind any of them.

MoP arguably felt like that last expansion, good or bad whatever your feelings/opinions on it are, that there was legitimate effort and care put into the game.

It’s really sad that a game so many of us love and grew up on is continuously declining. Not to be overdramatic with the analogy but it’s like watching a family member with dementia or another debilitating illness slowly regress.

This is an incorrect statement on just about every level.

You’d be happy to know your hard earned money has gone to funding multi-million dollar failed knock-offs in the esports scene.
