Big/Little Wigs causing Freezing at Start?

I asked in the Big/LittleWigs discord, but there hasn’t been a post in the LittleWigs part of it for a few weeks, so I figured I’d ask here in case someone here might know too.

So, since BFA started, I’ve had issues in dungeons. My screen freezes for pretty much 2-3 minutes after entering a dungeon. I assumed it was the built in voice chat.

However, tonight after enabling Parental Controls on my account and disabling Voice Chat, the issue persisted. So I disabled my addons one by one, starting with any that would affect dungeons, Skada, etc. and the second one I tried, LittleWigs, was the culprit.

Then I realized that when I start a raid, be it LFR or Normal, I also always freeze for like 30 seconds, then everything is fine. This must be BigWigs.

Is there any way for me to force BigWigs and LittleWigs to load when I load the game, rather than when I enter the instance? Apparently my toaster computer can’t handle them loading at the same time trash/bosses get pulled, so my game completely freezes while that happens, resulting in me getting kicked from dungeons, getting locked out of Taloc, etc.

Not sure about Wigs but with DBM you can force load modules from the addon options page.

/run LoadAddOn("<insert DBM Module or BigWigs module or LittleWigs module name here>")

If you do that BEFORE you queue for the instance, it will load on your time, not on the group’s.

You probably don’t want to force ALL of the modules to load, but you can obviously run with some of them and this is how you do it.

There might be other issue.

Are you running WoW from an SSD? If not, you could be running into problems with your HDD (fragmentation, limited capacity, imminent failure, perhaps others).

If you have the slots, adding an inexpensive 250 GB SSD can make a HUGE difference in loading times, zoning times, and such (won’t change game play in any other way).

Thanks for the help

Apparently, there’s an option if I type /bw to load the LittleWigs module by clicking the Dungeons tab.

This indeed solved my screen freezing issue, provided I do it for every dungeon when I load the game.

Though after thinking about it overnight, I opted to simply disable LittleWigs for now, since it actually hasn’t contributed anything to me this expac. I don’t do M+ above 4, so none of the timers are relevant, and even if I did, most, if not all of them are easily tracked by the default UI.
