Big LAG spikes. Disconnects

Hi all,

I read through the FAQ and here is what I have to offer to anyone that can help me.
I am lagging and disconnecting intermittently in the world, in dungeons, in battlegrounds and in raids. I have tried updating all drivers. Updating my BIOS and chipset. I have clean installed a new graphic driver. I have reset my UI. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I have run the repair utility. I cycled my modem, my router. I have unplugged waited and plugged them back in. I removed all addons. I released and reset my ip. I downloaded WinMTR and ran it. I can post that if it helps. I just used google.com as a host… not sure if I did that right. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

I am having all the same issues, so is my wife, we have done almost all of these things, and we are still having the same lag and disconnect issues on both our machines. Blizz keeps blaming anything but themselves. This is very frustrating.

I’ve never had any crashes in years of playing let alone the amount of disconnects I get daily most frequently in battlegrounds. This is 100% without a doubt a War Within issue, all other games I have no problem with disconnects or lag spikes or anything relating to an internet issue on my side. This only happens inside of Wow. It’s really on the verge of unplayable at this point, disconnecting mid fight in a BG to come back to a res timer. They really need to look into all these people being affected. I’ve looked through multiple forums of people experiencing the same issues & others that are not involved writing it off as an client side internet issue, which is 100% not the case. There seems to be certain triggers that cause the disconnects, as its usually the exact time I interact or use an ability that I’m disconnected.

Let me know if you find any solutions.

I’m having similar issues here. I’ve been playing WoW for 9 years and it’s never been this bad.

I thought it was my wifi at first but other games seem to work fine with my wifi. It’s only WoW that disconnects and lags a lot. One thing I noticed is that prior to a disconnect, my world ping will go sky high, like in the thousands.

I can’t even do M+ dungeons because of how unstable the connection to the game is. If I connect to the game for more than 10 mins, I’ll certainly disconnect.

I posted a similar issue, though I cant get past character selection. Max time in game 30s before disconnect.

Bump for visual. Still looking for assistance. <3

My ping doubled on Tuesday, and hasn’t come down.

Yep, same here. Tried everything. Massive world latency spikes randomly, sometimes when I’m not doing anything but mostly in Dornogal, raids, Mythics, and delves. I’m on my last nerve because the game is almost unplayable for me at this point in time.

game is unplayaable

If anyone is routing through states affected by hurricanes there is nothing you can do but try a VPN or wait for repairs.

Appreciate your reply! I am not in a state affected by the hurricane. Still persistent lag spikes though. Only in WoW.

Depends on if your internet traffic has to route through areas affected by Helene, which if memory serves, was quite a swath through the South East. Even outside of those paths though, as traffic is routed around areas of damage, which is essentially what the internet was designed to do, it can increase congestion and pings for everyone.

These issues have been present since prepatch. Stop reaching for straws and maybe actually consider it is on Blizzards end?

@Linarlais-stomrage: Same here. I am tired of these disconnects. I play this game since BC and this xp is the worst on connectivity issues. Blizz must step in and correct the issue. Could be also something along their network. Regardless this must be fixed ASAP!

@Kozzae: By the way this issue is occurring way before hurricane. Please stop using this argument. I am from Western Canada and always had very good connection to the Blizz servers. No hurricane to speak off here in Western Canada. Time to fix the issue. Also I used VPN and it does the same.

This is my problem right now. This is sad af. Not only is my xfinity service down for another 3 more days after being down for over a week but my apartment got hit by a tornado and my power was out for 6 days. Now I’m playing on my 5g and getting randomly dcd because of routing errors by Blizzard.

Mobile connections are unfortunately not supported, especially if it’s being overwhelmed with land line connections being down.
