The other day I had to re-install WoW because my game crashed due to memory issues.
Ever since I reinstalled the game, my FPS has been extremely choppy. Before my game crashed, my FPS would be high, expect in Ardenweald, where it would drop about 20-30.
Usually my FPS is around 90. But now it keeps stuttering and dropping, no matter what zone I’m in. I dont know if it was a bad download or what.
What sort of memory issue? Usually, a game reinstall is not the recommended step for that type of error.
My pc said i ran out of memory when I had WoW and Spotify opened at the same time. I also had a tab open on Edge. And it automatically closed the game.
I read that it could be a corrupted file and I should reinstall the game. And yeah, you know the rest.
I did order a new PC, cause the one I’m on doesnt qualify for Dragonflight. But the same is pretty much unplayable at this point.
Edit: I would also like to add my other games are fine. Overwatch is extremely smooth as well as hearthstone.
If you have to little RAM it can happen. In some places pure Windows 10 + WoW can hard-exceed 8GB. There is no fix other than adding RAM or closing other apps.
I dont have any other apps open anymore though. Its only just the game.
And also, the new PC i ordered has 16gb ram in it. Is that even gonna be enough for WoW and spotify to run at the same time?

Are you using a heavy amount of addons?
Yes, that would be enough. The primary factors for the new expansion’s performance will be CPU and GPU. Got a link to the new PC?
I only have about 15 addons. pretty much the basic addons. except no ui addons.

So my Addon memory ingame says its around 110mb. is that too high? cause its always been like that but never thought anything of it.
How much system memory your old(current) PC has?

Im getting really bad FPS after my reinstall too - I’m running at 30fps when I usually run at 100.

I DID and was told it must be an addon when I had 0 addons installed.
At 8GB it’s on the limit. In some zones it will stutter from lack of RAM (swapping to SSD) and when it can’t swap any more it can crash with the error you got.
Your posts are all about lag, which is not the same as an fps drop.
Decided to create another character on another realm and head to Stormwind. Consistent 95-100 FPS. Very smooth.
Hopped back on my main. Not as many drops as the first time, but plenty to not wanna play him.
Not sure what it could mean.
