Does anyone know how to do this task? The map points to a spot where a “stone sorting” quest is. Around the stone are frozen rocks. I have clicked on the rocks and have no idea how to progress in that task.

Many of them are just plain broken. I’ve had the stone sorting one fail. Another one, you’re supposed to talk to Nirobin, but you do and nothing happens.
Sometimes on the weed collection quest (theres one where you need to clear 5 - maybe Boneweed?) only 2 of them spawn.
One thing I noticed is that if you stay within the circle on the map you may get assigned 1 or 2 tasks for the duration of the event. if you fly out of the area and back in, you get another one straight away.
Given what a buggy mess this is who knows if its supposed to normally work like this?

these quests in general are the worst case of shoddy code being pushed into prod I’ve seen in a long time. People doing stuff around you should either contribute toward a common goal or not affect your actions at all.
Instead, either the bar doesn’t spawn, the bar doesn’t move, everything becomes non-interactive, or all things happen in a weird rotating pattern without a pattern.
I have alt-f4’d this content like three times in two days. Heinous experience.

I did it by pure chance at one point by summoning the fire totem, getting into the middle of the rock pile and somehow by magic clicking the right area at the right time. Other attempts to do the quest just had me picking up rocks and being told where to sort them, but there was nowhere to sort them to because that wasn’t the quest I was on.
I’m finding that there’s not even WoWHead help for hardly any part of the ongoing Azerothian Archives stuff to look at for workarounds yet, and so much of it is impassably bugged and broken. I noticed that it tells you that you get 50 pages for task completion, but keeping an eye on the progress bar it’s only granting 25. I only get pushed maybe two tasks an event, and sometimes they just immediately disappear and reset. I’ve had the 6/7 herbs thing happen with one of those six that I got hovering in the sky that I had to drop past from high up enough to get it midair, I’ve never had the “find runes” thing work, and gaining reputation levels doesn’t seem to do anything at all. A lot of people can’t even get past the first few quests to unlock the archives at all.
The sad thing is that I’m not even surprised that it rolled out so buggy and broken, it’s just par for the course these days. What irritates me most is that by the time it’s fixed people won’t hardly be doing it anymore and with the scaling being like every other world event even with bonuses it will turn into a longer, slower slog.
I finally completed the stone sorting one the third time I got it. When it does actually work, there’s 2 pillars that appear that represent junk and useful rocks. You just run to whichever one represents the rock you have when you’ve clicked on it and are holding it…
Very simple when it works, which seems to be very infrequent indeed…
