That’s because a mage oneshot has zero RNG too it, which makes it frustrating but predictable.
Rets one shot is did Divine Toll roll the 2 extra judges? Ok now did 2 to 3 of them crit? Then one shot.
The RNG aspect of rets oneshot is what people complain about because wings lasts for 25 seconds and seraphim is the only other “telegraph” that signals their oneshot.
While annoying mages typically Telegraph their go with meteor or a cross CC setup. Something ret doesn’t have to do.

But since ret is a rng it has a way greater chance to miss a oneshot than firemage getting 65% dmg increase and 100% crit every combust while also dropping the 2min cd to 45sec-1min.
Both specs are extremely overtuned during their burst, that’s it lmao

Oh but people on this forum swear up and down all that matters on someone’s ability to be objective and better at balance is being higher rated.
