if boosting is not going anywhere and blizzard wont send a cease and desist at least to the websites selling , or monitor the bracket then can we at least open up the number of spots for bgb titles so that people who want to earn the only meaningful incentive in the bracket can do so or add other rewards to encourge pushing into the other 500 rating of the bracket . Day 3 of my push and its been demoralizing to try to be competitive and have artificial barriers in the way . one of the servers for the most popular site is even hosted in CA not for from blizzard hq
If it’s of any consolation 99% of games below, like, 3k or something are just poor play, not premades/boosting. There are some big healers duoing with small buyers but their impact is a bit less violent than the disparities you’ll often find in random matches.

Honestly I dont think it will stop, or it can… The game would look seriously bad in the board room earnings call if the majority of players, sry, I mean accounts was to vanish…
Blizzard is catering to its dominant audience, and they are BOTs lol. AAA is in big decline, they put microtransactions, and Ideology above making a fun game, players last mindset. Not to mention the elephant in the room, that Ideology thats being pushed by gaming devs today lol.

ive been at 2600 mmr playing the same booster for 3 days in a row for the term of my push as soon as i play one or two games i see the booster soon after meaning i think its piloted if someones boosting the same spec as me it will affect players of the same spec more because the team balancing system
ive figured out a way to make it less convienient for them and a working theory on how to hinder them, they must have 2 groups queing as the same comp and that swings rng in the favor of them facing the other 2 so that they can trade after blizzard made the changes to team balance , if we figure out what comp the classes that are trading against us are playing we can have other members of the community copy them to throw off the probability of them achieving their desired result, boosting activity peaks between 2-8 am our time i saw a lot of it pushing tank
the likelyhood of encountering a booster depends on the popularity of your spec for the player pool of people not being boosted to be chosen from for comp balance and mmr
I dont see how Boosting helps the game, but then again how is it harming the game? Kinda already Terminal in a sense, its not getting new players, only losing. They are only hastening the decline… WoW retail started with less players than the last season of the previous expansion, and falling. And I dont see the Devs changing their mindset anytime soon, ideology first, cash second, and way down the list is gamers.
People have been saying the game is dead for soo long now that when it is actually happening no one believes it lol.
Pricing would suggest that past the 2400 rating in BGB is when you’ll see win traders as the cost increases significantly as it requires more people to engineer a specific outcome.
None of us can tell how common boosting is either unless you find some way to see a person’s match history.

playing past 2300-2500 is the most common place im seeing it the person receiving the boost starts close to that mmr if they where boosted last season and the player pool is smaller making bracket manipulation easier. the smart boosters will mix in loses so that they dont stand out on drustvar with win loss
The real money is in BOTTING, even casual andy can let his PC run all day and make a buck. The Boosting thing still takes highly skilled players, I cant imagine the time invested, the years to get to that level, they might as well make a dolla out of it… Imagine if they invested that time in school, or in a RL business.

a big reason boosting is so big in bgb rn at certain point is that with the decline of rbg participation its much harder to sell carries and boosts and a lot of that income has dried up , solo shuffle has some trading but its much easier to see for the average player, if i didnt heal for years i wouldnt know how to tell that the healers boosting on our team stopped healing when i shift the momentum in our favor, after day 2 of queing into me they changed how blatantly some of them where throwing but it was very obvious when damage doesnt spike no ones cced and healing just stops before we win an objective

I can only imagine the participation numbers atm, I bet it feels like the old wow days where there was no sharding and you knew the folks on your server lol.

the steep pricing is not due to difficulty its driven by scarcity of spots for prized marshal/warlord
People are so delusional. Who cares if a duo is boosting to 2400. Its free to anyone with even a base understanding of the game and minimal skill. Win trading at the top is a thing and I witnessed it but it was realistically only 10 or so games of the hundreds I played. The worst bracket is the R1 range tanks bracket, not fun games and a much higher rate of win trading but as long as you’re above or below them it’s not really an issue.

boosting to 2400 is not the issue being discussed its selling marshal/warlord and making pushing r1 impossible when they can ensure you que into their counterparts throwing on less popular specs and have someone create an artificial barrier, with some of the boosts being piloted by multiple people it doesnt matter if they should be asleep , the big hours ive seen the rmt is 2-6 est
Marshal/Warlord is 2300 no? And as far as I know there was only one accusation of piloting for a R1 spot last season.
it relies on the average rating of the player pool for your spec its was 3500 for some specs
was 3200 then jumped to around 3400 for ww last season in the last week
all im saying is if we know how they are manipulating the bracket lets turn to our nearest friends of the same spec and hunt down the boosted little rats if you play a spec with little representation it will become really obvious 50-70 ganes in
