i cant find any sort of real reward for doing bgs. i want to just casually pvp, not be forced into ranked but theres no rewards for it. like i know theres the whole honor points thing but as far as im away you can only buy gear for that, and once you have that theres nothing else to buy

Conquest Gear? Bis?, which you will want. Also Tier sets which the Catalyst unlocks next week created with Conquest pieces.
Materials from Boxes (Ire) which will net 40-60g per item, usually 3 per + Marks of Honor. Primal Chaos.
Feasts, Saltwaters etc.
Most importantly Fun.

im nowhere near good enough at pvp to do ranked and get the conquest gear
Take a look at your Currency tab. You have a full set of Honor is this from pre 70?
At 70 we get Conquest every win+ Quests + World stuff + Weekly Brawl when it’s working.
Rated will give you a Vault Option which is a reward from earning Honor in Rated settings. Also a PVE item level upgrade.
All PVP gear scales the same in PVP, regardless of rating.
And you can casually pvp, the weekly cap is 550 conquest, it is very easy to cap conquest doing random bgs,You can also spec holy and spam solo shuffle rated for conquest?
Use healing Rated Solo Shuffle to unlock the weekly vault rewards, I usually spam these for the vault rewards.
I do casual pvp. As Entrdadragon said you can get conquest from random BG’s and solo shuffle. SS can be annoying, but match win a day is (I think) 200 conquest and a lot of honor. If you rank up a bit in SS, you can use the honor to upgrade the conquest pieces non-arena item level.
You get bis conquest from battlegrounds. The first win of the day gives you 70 conquest, subsequent wins are 15. There are weekly quests to earn honor in battlegrounds for conquest turn in, killing 10 npcs in wintergrasp the first time gives you 250 conquest. You can get full 424 gear without ever doing rated
Can also get 60 conquest from looting a war supply crate out in the world once a day
Shouldnt need incentives to do bgs anyway, the reward of bgs is that its the most fun pvp content

You don’t have to be good to do rated solo shuffle it’s full of mediocre players, you’ll lose a lot of rating at times but the honor and conquest helps with gearing.
Well, you can achieve full bis in unranked battlegrounds.
Which should have access to the Vault. BFA did this right.
This is true, but within a month or so after obtaining BIS season 2 will begin…

Fun! should be the incentive to log in and PVP not a carrot dangle. Imo ofc.
i pvp for funsies bc i like to beat ppl up, however im still learning and doing my best. my best rn is stuck in bgs for the foreseeable future. i tried solo shuffle and i did nothing but lose them, aside from maybe one round every once a blue moon. im tired of constantly losing and just want to spend my time in bgs where i actually stand a chance, but i want a chance at some mounts that arent blocky as well
also my gear is the current honor stuff

Just queue YOLO RatedBGs. It’s 1000 times more fun and you’ll learn how to do it/play your role. Noone gets good at baseball only ever playing Tee-Ball.

The problem with that is nobody does them.
You can do the weekly quests Que up and win one random and one epic daily. That’s two bgs and you will easily access the same gear as a rated. It’s only 550 cone per week. I mean what are you playing like one epic a week? If so then yes…u are gonna struggle

When you mix with Drakebreaker gear, you are close to BiS even without CQ.
You are not handicapped in PvP by gear in DF . It’s the FOTM specs and your skill for the most part which determines result
Even bad players can break 1400.
