I’m not totally new to the game I know a little about each class as far as pve goes. But what are the good classes to make for random bg pvp? I would assume some kind of plate class but again rusty/newish to bg pvp.
Well, you’re going to get a ton of different answers as these are the sorts of things that are highly subjective questions.
That being said, I’d try a class with high mobility if you’re new to PvP. The key learning curve and barrier for PvP is remembering that you just can’t stand in one place. You’ve got to be constantly moving and keeping your enemy in front of you (as well as within range if you’re melee)
DH could work out as an introduction to playing in PvP. Havoc is very straightforward and has some high mobility. A hunter in marks/BM could also work if you’d rather operate at range.
Whatever you do, some key things to remember:
- Get out of the habit of keyboard turning if you still do this
- Don’t be a clicker, use your keybinds, and use combination binds if you need them
(Shift+W, Ctrl+C, etc) - DO. NOT. BACKPEDDLE! (Hell, this should also be a rule for PvE players)
As far as movement goes, S should not exist
Get used to turning and strafing with Q/E as it keeps your movement at full speed instead of walking backwards very slowly - Most important: have fun, don’t get discouraged
The worst part of a fresh PvP/BG character is the gearing
Just do what you can early on while contributing and like with random PvE groups, be ready to let words slide if something doesn’t go well
Hunter is the obvious choice.
Balance Druid is pretty good too.
Melee, I prefer rogues.
There is something for everyone.
wiggles toes
What’s a good alliance race for rogue and Hunter.
Here is the best advice you will ever get about making a choice.
Night elf for an extra hide thus interrupting a caster.
Dwarf so you can shake off bleeds.
Gnome for a root buster.
Human for a stun buster.
Depends on what you find fun in bgs. Cranking damage? Balance. Harassing people and stealing bases? Rogue. Never dying? Guardian. Picking apart clothies from a mile away? Marksmanship Hunter, etc.
Hunter, rogue and paladin are the most fool proof choices you have if you’re just starting out.
I’m going to go gnome rogue what’s a useful profession for rogues
Most of them have had their perks disabled, but I’d go with Engineering.
I go alchemy. However, engineering is fun too.
As a gnome rogue I think I plan on harassing people and base stealing in bg pvp
Kill the clothies. It’s fun. Especially priests.
Ok so I’m going engineering and mining and just got read up on specs and what to choose. Thanks everyone
One you like.
It doesn’t matter how much it’s perceived to be OP, if you flat-out don’t like a class, you’ll be miserable.
Depends on the style you enjoy.
If you like a class that can bust into a melee fight and do good damage while also having good survivability and not feel lacking then I say UH DK.
If you enjoy a good ranged class to pick players off then Hunter, BM or MM both work.
The right druid spec can offer a lot if you want more of a jack of trades but master of none.
I also like prot paladin. Speced right you do a lot of ranged damage and can be VERY annoying. Also while FCing you are nearly unstoppable. Consecration that slows enemies and removes slows. 2 charges of Charger that knock opponents in the air. So fun sometimes.
(Note: Not much of a caster/healer myself so I don’t have any suggestions there sadly)
Hunter (any spec, but marks especially)
Ret paladin
Shadow priest
Holy paladin, disc priest
Imo
Rogue and feral/boomy with convoke are solid contenders
You can’t go wrong playing Human, best overall PvP racials for Alliance Rogues.
Op sounds like a fury warrior.
Tho ![]()
That said, mage and rogue r literally the best two pvp classes.
Remember to LoS and not just stand there alone without ppl beating on your enemies. Totally surrounded by the other team.
Whatever you enjoy, Random BG’s are a chaotic cesspool.
