the people in charge of blizzard don’t pvp often or well, but do have big egos, they see it as a minigame and no amount of polls or evidence will change their mind. iirc Ion is still honor level 6. he cares about his spreadsheets, and you can’t balance pvp by spreadsheet because player skill and free will gets in the way.
To be fair, poll aside,
You aren’t wrong with this. But you need a hook. WoW has a subscription model. That’s where the “no barrier to entry level” come in. It’s a free trial. Come in here and see how much fun we’re having! Aren’t you having fun now too? You’re too close to PvP to see it objectively.
The people at Blizzard like money. They don’t care about PvE or PvP, they care about money. If something is popular, you milk it. That’s not gaming, that’s business. If data shows a trend, you shift towards it until they’re sick of it, then you shift again to whatever it is they are moving towards next. I’m not saying these things because I like PvE or PvP. I’m saying these things because this is what I do all day every day. Data is king. If the data showed that people preferred PvP, then you would see a heavy investment into it.
i think the data shows people do like pvp, but i don’t think the devs know what to do with that information. i’ve already seen my uhdk here gutted by lack of indepth knowledge and understanding of the class mechanics, so i don’t have a lot of faith that the devs know what they are doing and could successfully make good pvp content for the game. do you really want another seething shore? how about epic changes based on the opinion of an arena player? class changes based on their own personal opinion on what classes are up or down this season? or class balance based on AWC regardless of how it affects random bgs(MM hunter buffs)?
As I stated before. You’re too close to the game to view it objectively. If the customer prefers any one thing over another then you heavily lean into it or you’re at risk of losing subscribers and in turn a large chunk of the market share. The correct thing to do when the customers prefer one part of your game is to do literally anything.
kinda, you need your finger on the pulse of the playerbase though, if you just go messing around blindly you will upset the players who care the most about the game. the greater pvp community has a proverbial graveyard of lost players who have left over the years due to neglect from the devs, it seems everyone sees the pvp magic in wow’s game engine but blizzard.
so your telling me i can level in a timely manner playing pvp never having to step foot in pve… I think your wrong ![]()
Discussion is not about leveling. It is about PvP.
You do not have to PvE in order to PvP.
taking basses in arathi basin is going to be a nightmare with a change like that lol.
Based.
ugh…
the most annoying aspect of pvp gearing is getting face rolled 7 out of 10 battleground matches by opponents who have the privilege of maintaining the status quo. At this rate getting the necessary conquest points in the current game perimeters to accel is agonizing slow!! I suggest allowing players to earn conquest at a reduced rate in a loss and/or providing an alternative such as a vendor option to exchange flightstone for honor or conquest and vice versa. maybe this is all by design and BLizzard wants for a budlight like boycott from its base to quit in leu of a game developer that appears to give a Sh!t about the cries of its subscription paying costumers …DO Better Blizzard!!
Lots of people enjoy epic BGs. Just don’t queue for them if you don’t. Also, if you play them like PvE mini games you’re doing it wrong, except maybe for Trashran.
Yes, but the XP gained from BG’s and the wait times between bgs means I can not experience high level pvp without PVE… which i what my initial comment was about,
normalizing battle grounds to help draw more player like myself back into the game…
Which is in line with discussing an overhaul to battleground
I have no time to play MMO’s but I love wow, wow lore and I love random battle grounds. At the moment I get my pvp fix by playing mobas because I can just log in and play.
I’m sure there are many others in similar situations
You may have to PvE up to level 10 first in order to unlock battlegrounds, at which point you can level all the way to 70 strictly from PvP. The time it takes to reach max level is irrelevant to this statement. This thread is not about leveling anyway.
I would agree this thread was not created to discuss PvP gearing or the PvE vs PvP debate.
It is about in what ways we can enhance the battleground system to encourage more participation across the board.
15 second timer is a terrible idea, you could never capture a base in AB…or better yet, eots
then players afk in the game and don’t push to win.
no, you created this thread just to troll epic bgers.
your missing the point
tbf herc isnt wrong you can pvp to max lvl it just takes longer then pve. You not having a lot of time to play doesn’t really change that. he isn’t really missing the point, just because bg ques at lower levels are long.
My idea for battlegrounds is to revert to wods scalling system where everyone is scaled up to the top of the bracket including there equipped gear but for some reason blizzard doesn’t want to ( although they already scale your lvl up so you don’t miss al the time)
This might help get people back into queing lvling content…
My hottest take though is to disable sync queing because I am jealous that max lvls can bully lvlers in a premade group but I cant bully ppl on my twinks.
Sorry if they did away with AV I would quit the game. It’s an iconic BG and is a huge memory for many players from way back.
