Its time to put your big boy pants on Blizzard and do something about the BG leaving culture that has embedded itself into WoW. On top of the 15 min deserter buff you need to add in an account wide debuff that stacks infinitely. The debuff will make it so you receive no rewards at the end of a BG. In order to remove a single instance of the debuff you have to complete a BG. Its probably the easiest solution you could ever come up with. Its time you started standing up for the people actually playing the game and giving them the gaming environment they deserve instead of BGs with a rotating door policy seeing people leave and enter the entire duration. Its not fun nor does it make me want to keep paying for a sub. I literally just came back after qutting in Legion because it was so bad. And NOTHING has changed…
I get it can be frustrating but your idea here is a good way to ensure nobody bothers to pvp at all.
I’m assuming your talking about unrated bgs?
Of course people don’t care if they abandon them.
You want a team that at least tries? Push rated.
Sounds like players on the enemy team left after discovering that you were planning on farming them in their graveyard for hours with your premade.
How about make graveyards not farmable? And come up with a solution to the premade problem that doesn’t involve wrecking the game for solo queuers in order to give the sociopaths in the full queue sync premade free kills?
You mean people who dont belong in BGS in the first place wont bother. And Im glad. If you truly pvp all the time. You wont be leaving BGs. and if you ever do have to leave a BG for any kind of emergency it wont matter because losing out on rewards for a single BG wont bother somebody that actually pvps. People will just make as many excuses as they can for why they should be able to just leave without any punishment and its hilarious.
If you want to play with fellow pvpers you deem actually “belong” in pvp I again suggest you push rated. Why wouldn’t you anyway?
And yes your frustration is valid my guy, I love to pvp as well but at the end of the day, you can’t force people to play with you.
If people want to leave for whatever reason they will do that, without feeling bad, without caring about any punishments.
Deal with the premades first… treat the cause not the symptoms.
There are more premades in random battlegrounds then 10v10 rated battlegrounds…
pvp is in shambles right now anyway…
I highly doubt they even care about random bgs.
But yeah it does feel awful being a backfill of a loss and getting the same honor.
Do you think your post will actually be read constructively or did you just want to rant?
Oh I 100% agree with the premade issue. But seriously should be a simple fix for Blizzard to prioritize groups against groups. But they use the excuse of “Then queues for BGs would be longer. We get you into BGs quick this way” I would wait 20+ minutes if it meant I was going to have a BG where people at least half way tried.
As far as rated goes. Yes I do play rated. Solo Blitz is fun but its not the same experience. And getting a group for true Rated BGs can be hard at this point. Im almost 40 with a family. I dont really have time for a schedule like that these days sadly. I count on random BGs to get the majority of my fix.
BGs bad, War Mode and Arena good.
Literally nobody cares. It’s a WoW BG.
Leaving is the only solution to at least two persistent problems that Bliz has refused to deal with:
- Gross item level disparities. The total item level of each team should be displayed for all to see, and any team that has a significant deficit should have some sort of handicap bonus to at least partially make up for it.
- Pre-made vs. pug. Maybe this is better nowadays, but the last time I pvp’d much it was still a huge problem. There’s no excuse for this. If you queue up with a balanced group of 5, you should only be put into a BG where the opposing team has a similar pre-made in its composition. If that means long wait times, so be it.
When these problems haven’t been addressed, many BGs turn into “The New England Patriots have their game against the local high school JV team today, let’s tune in to see what happens!” This would be fun to watch for maybe 5 minutes, and it’s only fun to play in if you’re on the Patriots, and you’re getting paid well to win the game. Otherwise, it’s a gigantic loser all around.
Yep, and with the Anniversary quest, it should have been “Complete one Karrak’s Revenge (win or lose)” instead of “Earn 500 honor”. Once they have that 500, and they hate PvP, they will dip and not even care about a debuff. The onus is on Blizz for setting the requirement.
I think 15 minutes is fine. What isn’t logged is how other players might remember you leaving and how that might make them think twice about listening to your plans for the next battle.
“Guys go hangar”
“Why? So you can quit as soon as we don’t get hangar”
OMG, I can’t breathe…
People who truly PvP all the time are more likely to leave rather than have their time wasted in an unwinnable game.
Now we know who you really are. You’re a leaver.
Guys, we can’t count on Boomdoggle to help us with these epic comeback victories THAT DO keep happening… when you stay for the entire battle
that’s a great way to kill bgs…I like it.
You just let people talk and leavers reveal themselves right away.
So you want less people doing BGs ? I thot pvp is not doing good as it is
Oh yes they will. In fact it’s the ones with experience who know when to bail. I don’t think they should, and believe they are a bunch of that should quit PvP and take up knitting, but they aren’t noobs.
