This was always the case with CP though.
-Not arguing the point, just acknowledging the weakness in the system, when compared with other gearing methods.
-Personally, I’m fine with more than one type of gameplay (as evidenced by the armor I wear), but I also understand the frustration of those that want nothing to do with Raiding / M+ (I’m not a fan of raiding myself)
Well, that’s me through and through. I don’t do dungeons or raid. I think the gearing is fine.
I wasn’t really making a judgment, just stating a fact. M+ people have no limit on gear per week. The 500 conquest and done system throws all of your extra conquest for the week in the trash.
-Does it need changed? (Shrug) We’re now on our SECOND 430 gear cycle and there are a lot of people still complaining about gear.
-At some point the “I’m casual” argument definitely just doesn’t work anymore.
Maybe they should nerf that then.
again, wasn’t making a judgment call on it, but perhaps that wouldn’t be the worst idea.
Yeeeeeep.
This right here is why the random BG reward track is inferior to mythic+ gearing, and should be.
It would be great to have more control over the pieces we earn, and design appears to be headed that way, but I wouldn’t hold my breath for random BG gearing to catch up to mythic 10+ gearing in terms of raw efficiency.
Correct, rewarding high iLvL gear JUST for doing random/unrated bgs would encourage even more of the usual undesirable player behavior (afkers, botters, do-nothing slackers, etc).
M+ rewards are fine, not just because of their increased difficulty relative to some random/unrated bg, but also because it’s simply impossible to AFK your way thru a M+ dungeon… so there is “built-in” checks against abuse. Good luck trying to “solo” an M+ dungeon while your 4 teammates go afk, it just ain’t happening ![]()
On the other hand, you really only need 4-5 good players to “carry” slackers/afkers in your typical random bg… with perhaps 25-30 decent players needed to “carry” slackers/afkers in the epic bgs.
There are already so many afkers/do-nothing slacker players in bgs as it is, imagine how much worse the problem would be if random bgs rewarded 440+ gear ![]()
You have to follow the conquest cap BS for weeks in order to even get semi relevant gear.
I can run a +10 in 30 min and get a 440 piece in the chest, and possibly a drop piece, AND a bonus roll piece. All of them 430+ ilvl
The problem is there’s no catch up mechanics. If you haven’t been capping conquest every week from the start, you’re looking at grinding out 10k conquest to even start getting 430 lvl stuff. A.k.a. Grind for weeks to STILL be irrelevant in end game play
BG gearing is total trash. A Roaring dumpster fire that blizzard should be ashamed of
If they’d bring back a pvp stat, BGs could reward good ilvl stuff without encroaching on pve
They should just nerf M10 gear if it’s that easy. Should be 415 gear. You should have to do an M15 if you want 430+ gear.
Maybe they should nerf that then.
Yes, that is definitely the answer. Instead of improving systems such that it feels there is an actual reward for engaging in that activity let’s nerf other systems to lessen their reward.
That will surely drive up player participation.

Are you trying to drive a stake through this game’s heart?
If it really only takes 30 minutes then yes, they should bring it down to random bg levels. The best gear should only come from raiding and rated pvp.

How about #@# that? I’d like to not be at a permanent gear disadvantage when fighting other players just because I don’t like raiding or like rated pvp.
I’d just stop playing along with a large number of other people. You should never be forced to do content that you don’t enjoy. Ever.

Disagree. But, eh.

Boss fights take 10 minutes. Should they be nerfed too since they don’t take enough time to qualify for what you deem 430 ilvl worthy?
Gear drops from them? Yes.

All they need to do is give pvp gear bonus effects that work in pvp only and put a currency system in exactly like how benthic armor works in Nazjatar.
You can keep the max item level lower than top item level pve gear but still have it be best in slot or competitive for best in slot for pvp. And since the bonuses would only be active in pvp it wouldn’t screw with dungeons or raiding.
That’s not needed. Just need to increase arena/rbg awards to match raiding/mythic gear better. But I do agree to give mana pearls in pvp to allow benthic gear through pvping.
Disagree. But, eh.
You do understand that people who feel like they are being forced to do content they don’t enjoy in order to do the content they do enjoy are the people that quit, don’t you?
