BG Dodging... Sounds bad

I’m not big on forums… But i AM super excited for Classic.

This video has me concerned as to how much fun BGs are going to be… Which is a BIG reason for me being so excited.

With that… Here’s the video. Please watch and raise awareness so this problem can be addressed b4 release.

This is a private server problem. Its only possible because private servers have small populations and no cross server BGs.

No, people do it on retail in RBGS as well. As long as you have people on another team on bnet you can ask/see if they are queing. And simply wait till they are in a bg to que.

Ok…
You just dodged one team. Then you get put in with a different premade.
Or do you plan to make friends with every one who runs premade and coordinate queue time with them all?
At that point if the entire pvp comunity is working together then who is there left to complain?

Its not uncommon for good players, known premade groups, across different servers to add each other to avoid queing. Do not underestimate the social aspect of the pvp community. There will be a place for all the rankers to gather and communicate, rather its discord or streaming or something else, to dodge and get easy quick games

Bg dodging is annoying, but cross realm BGs ruin pvp, and server community.

“big” enough to have trust lvl3, apparently.

Sadly this. I learned about the power of discord back when pokemon go came out in 2016. My town had a discord group and was super coordinated on holding certain gyms for max coins and would camp gym spots and wait for you to win and throw their pokemon in before you could.

It was really pathetic, made me quit. I just redownload it again and ran into one of the guys. He invited me to their discord and because of how much the game has changed they aren’t as cringe now. I scrolled back to old messages one day bored and saw all the trash they was talking back then.

I’m confused… When I read “BG dodging,” I think “not doing battlegrounds.” Like “work dodging.” “Draft dodging.”

If that’s the case, then I am a “BG dodger,” because I never do battlegrounds (or any PvP). Therefore, you’re correct, if nobody did any battlegrounds, ever, then it would “destroy” PvP.

Therefore, your post is quite redundant. If nobody does a thing, then nobody would ever do that thing.

Much bigger problem on private servers than it will be on retail.

Also, this video the guy has tampered with the game files and it is private server footage.

We have a deserter debuff of 15 minutes don’t we?

On the last beta test there was a 15 minute debuff. What’s the issue?

The issue hes trying to point out is premades will try to avoid going against other known players/premades by “dodging” them and try to only face PUGs.

Actually, if you queue up with a 39 person pre-made and a deserter alt, the alt goes in to see who they’re against, and if they don’t like the team, everyone else drops queue and refuses. No deserter debuff and they can queue up with a new alt.

How do you prevent that? It’s a problem they simplified and it has no fix.

“Just make it cross-realm BGs!” - yeah and ruin any sort of server community because a few deadweights want faster queues. “We” wanted Classic, but it seems like we’re getting BfA with Vanilla content.

Apply the deserter debuff to anyone who AFKs or refuses a Battleground prompt. It’s a simple fix.

If you actually read the OP, it’s about people sniping or avoiding certain premades in BG’s.

Yes, and the solution is a deserter debuff for dropping queue. i.e. If you watched the video, the solution that is presented but has never been tried.

The entire exploit is dropping queues to avoid other premades.

With Cross Realms (confirmed) and no Rated (that I know of) is this even an issue?

Yep. Premades don’t want to face premades, and will do what they can to avoid it. In 1.1.2+ Vanilla, it was a sacrificial alt.
