BG deaths should not count in HC SoM2

Please allow Bg’s deaths to not count in hardcore runs, please.
I know for myself I get a bit nervous the higher level I get and Bg’s would be such a good way to break up the fear of death.
Imagine how many active players there would be in every level bracket of people who are taking a break from their deaths?
I know the BG gear is the biggest fear for hardcore runners as early level and even ranked gear at endgame is extremely strong so you can easily disable purchasing these items, but I personally think having alternative ways to get gear is a net positive for hardcore.
And also, if you don’t like bgs and play hardcore, you don’t have to play them x

It’s just a stand in name for the upcoming Hardcore servers.

if BG deaths don’t count then it’s not HC :expressionless:
what blizzard needs to do is up the rewards you get for winning BGs
make them so enticing people will risk their damn lives for em

It’s still hardcore… Plenty of hardcore games like PoE for example have dedicated areas where there are no penalties for death… Maybe doesn’t fit your definition of HC but thats why I made the post, because everyone has different opinions on what hardcore is and should be. Is trading counted as not HC? Is the Auction house really HC?

What if you like BGs and like Hardcore? Shouldn’t you be able to play HC BGs?

Thats what i want

That’s the issue with HC. Unfortunately most wow players aren’t pvpers so it takes a back seat

Most WoW Players” isn’t maybe all that meaningful of a term, imo; especially moreso as we have more options of what and how to play. If we cared only about “most” we’d never be considering HC Classic… but it’s cool that we are!

Anyway, with regards to BGs, it’s an interesting question. Do we allow HC players to queue BGs with non HC players, farm honor, die and get PVP gear, do we count their deaths as deaths, do we have only HC vs HC bgs?

You could maybe have some special conditions, but being able to queue BGs on a HC server and obtain pvp gear while dying seems somewhat off to me.

Who knows though! We’ll see what happens.

Nah they’ll never do that. Just let people get farmed all the way to r14 and blow through all content? Lol

Well, exactly.

So, server-only HC BGs seems to make the most sense. Just don’t queue if you are worried about dying.

that’s why i said you can disable purchasing pvp gear

I feel like if BGs are able to be played then they have to make it so death is allowable, otherwise hoe would you complete the BG? Would they all turn into team deathmatch essentially?

I can kind of see WSG or AB working but after a certain number imbalance people would just leave or hide out until a loss to try and survive and that defeats the whole purpose of the BG.

This is the biggest issue for me currently.

The Blizzard employee who made the announcement said that players will no longer be able to resurrect under any circumstances on the realm that they play on. Battlegrounds, however, are their own realm.

I think Blizzard has learned from the #nochanges era and will allow players to decide for themselves whether BGs are allowed or not. Death being permanent while partaking in a BG will discourage almost all players from joining them. You are expected to die repeatedly inside battlegrounds compared to Azeroth.

Lower level BGs have always been a major part of the game for casual players but never caught on during Classic. This would be a missed opportunity for a ton of fun if Blizz decides to appease a minority who shout “That’s not HC” - which is not much different from “no changes”.

I figure they will have some basic rules but mostly leave it up to the players to decide how they play and who they play with.

Season of Mastery 2 will not be hardcore. They are going to be separate realms.

What makes hardcore x bgs together interesting to me is the gearing is a lot more risky. So when you see others with high end gear you know they earned it. Making players feared again.
However, these PvE Andys will argue PvP no matter what. Not sure what it is, maybe the reason they only play hardcore is the lack of pvp talent? Idk

So then don’t pvp…?
