BG Ban wave. Blizzard needs to address this

People who level in AV should feel insanely guilty for intentionally hurting the group’s chances of winning,… but if they’re legit shouldn’t have been banned.

That being said the last week I saw A LOT of low lvl DKs sitting in bunkers after they burned

Edit: Unless you’re a DK gripping people into Drek. Both hilarious and useful

Hilarious you talk about a real world practical setting then you go on to take Blizzard at face value when people are being wronged.

You clearly have no idea how companies operate in the real world. It’s actual frightening

Every thread devolves into you being condescending towards whoever you’re talking to and throwing out your chart of logical fallacies you have on the wall, while you’re committing the grandest of them all right here. But you have “proof, facts, evidence” and as a result you’re justified in believing Blizzard. And the only proof you’ve shown was Blizzard’s own words on the matter, you randomly bringing up individuals had corroborated getting refunded at some point in time, and your “why would Blizzard lie?” line of logic. Why would Blizzard lie when people are harmed on their watch? Why would politicians? Why would governments? Why would pharmaceutical companies?

Your naivety, selective dislike for logical fallacies, and endless technicalities might serve you well in your realm of academia, but it leaves glaring holes in your understanding of the “real world” you claim to understand so well. Your horribly uninformed take on economic principles you made a week or two ago on these forums was bad enough as it was.

I came here in support. I was not involved in this, didn’t even play battlegrounds, received no bans or warnings. Had some people I know get hit with it. Many people have been banned for legitimately playing the game. I dont care if they were farming rams, defending towers, capturing mines, or defending the damn scrap turn in NPCs. They weren’t ALL afking. I doubt even 20% of these banned accounts were AFKing. And no, getting up to use the restroom or get a snack for 2 minutes is not justification for a 31 day suspension because of a mass report.

This NEEDS to be handled, and quickly. And please work on fixing your automated report system for putting out blanket 30 day bans. Have some common sense, use your human brains, and actually look into these mass reports.

Players have proven to be too toxic and too stupid to use this feature correctly, and the amount of false positives is staggering.

My post history should reek of:

-if you got banned when you shouldn’t, hope you get an appeal
-the actual AFK’ers did get banned though, haven’t seen any today
-blizzard shouldn’t let levelers in AV, but it’s not against the ToS
-Tea can’t read
-maybe next time you won’t sit in a bunker 70 games in a row next time

I just won the alliance a game when i saw 10 horde coming for the relief hut, and bolted into Vann’s room. When they poked their head in, i would CC them. Once they charged, i bubbled and made a nuance just long enough for alliance to kill drek. Sometimes it only take a couple of people to throw a wrench in the game lol.

Oh there are people who use their brain,… and they def take advantage of people that don’t in this game

It’s like in AB, you have that one-two people on your team chasing the one guy to Africa for no reason at all. While your base gets capped

Holding a tower can lead to no damage multiple times. Try to keep up. Or can you comprehend?

Arent people that sit in a bunker a bunch of games in a row actually doing something helpful? Preventing back caps is a pretty big part of AV. Sure, sometimes no one comes. Other times a whole team comes. Sometimes just one guy runs buy and stops to click on it to take it back.

Its actually a huge part of the objective of the whole BG.

The irony being how many companies I own and run.

I’m not being condescending. Presenting you with facts is not condescending. And the fact is that Blizzard simply just doesn’t use automated systems for reporting. Players can’t mass report someone and get that person’s account sanctioned without a GM looking into it.

Which is what? I’ve asked a few times now and you’ve yet to answer that for me.

Yes Confidence, I follow logic, proof, facts, and evidence. I’m sorry but I will not change my stance on this until all of that changes.

False equivalency fallacy. You’re comparing people that post on the CS forums to politicians, governments, and pharmaceutical companies? That’s the comparison we’re going for here?

My last AB game i sat at the mine with a druid and rogue and i was bait lol. LOTS of dead DKs lol. Again, not AFK, but would people report me for sitting there defending a node?

Absolutely, but if it’s not misunderstood by Blizzard as AFKing, hope they mix it up next time.

Also let’s be honest. I’d put money on them sitting in the bunker is because it’s easy and they don’t have to pay attention.

If I was leveling a DK you can promise I’d be harassing the entire team in Drek’s room. Getting Dmg/Honor in the process.

The random nature of the queue brings together all forms of players, from afkers to Try-Hards. There is no authority on how the BG is to be played, and different players have different tactics on how they approach PvP.

Anyone out there reporting is only reporting what they deem improper, even if that may not be the case at all.

What that means is that anyone that uses the random BG at all, and decides to report anyone for any reason, even if they are legitimately AFK, has cemented their own subjective authority on how things should be… completely forgetting that the random queue system is for anyone to use…yes…that means AFKers too!

If you queued up for a random BG and you reported anyone for any reason, it is you who used the queue the wrong way, not the AFKer.

And that is what this has to do with you and no LFD. There is no random queue for dungeons so all groups that do them are technically premades, subject to the authority of the group leaders.

Which is why I know it is PvEing, anti-LFD andys like you that are behind all this mass reporting. You turned AV into your PvE honor farming raid zone that when you see someone stepping out of your plan, you hit them with whatever negativity report you can hit them with.

Let me tell you something about real PvPers.

Real PvPers are fighters that don’t concern themselves too much with what is going on around them. They are there to fight, to get objectives done, not squabble with teammates over HKs and numbers and wonder why others aren’t performing as well as they are. That is who a true PvPer is.

Has anyone been banned yet not sitting in a Bunker/Tower in AV? Just curious

If you did that like 30 ABs in a row. Died every time, went back there only to die. Then that might be on the radar, but it’s nothing I’d report someone for.

edit: If I see a Rogue stealthing in a node we aren’t defending, I don’t think twice about it. Even if they cap it for a second or detour someone it’s worth. But it’s not like you’re just sitting there doing nothing

My post here will better sum up my situation. I’m not looking for trolls to respond to me because my text is yellow. I only entered this thread because I got a notification someone tagged me.

Please don’t @ me anymore and leave me out of further discussions in this thread.

I know because I have friends, and I pay attention to what they do. Why are you on such a crusade to hold this up as right when it’s obvious something about this is wrong to the rest of us? Are you simply a contrarian or just a jerk?

We posted your post as a reference that in fact. Yes blizzard is messing up here. Going so far as to automated ban cc members with an upstanding history.

Maybe once in awhile, if it is happening game after game it is because you are trying to avoid combat.

Playing the game in literally any way “because its easier” is perfectly acceptable according to ToS. You can chase rats in the deeprun tram all day if you wanna pay 15 dollars a month to do it.

Just because YOU don’t want to do something because its “easy” doesn’t make it against ToS, and doesn’t make it a bannable offense.

I know someone who was banned but was never kicked once with a deserter debuff. I also see people mass reporting people doing quests out of spite in av. Not really sure what the tech is for the bans but you have to imagine they get it wrong sometimes
