I’m curious, did all the people hit know Blizzard has been cracking down on participation in AVs since BC prepatch?

Because I was literally playing with them and they never at any point were doing anything that should qualify as non-participation in a battleground.
This entire conversation has been beaten to death. There is no serious viewpoint on the matter that isn’t “the bans were wrong and should be reversed”.

Wholeheartedly agree. I see some people on here trying to make the case that people were probably afk’ing and I don’t think anyone is going to honestly say that the hundreds or thousands of people who are levelling/gearing new characters were at their keyboards 100% of the time. However, even if they did step away occasionally this ban reaction is clearly too much for the “crime”.
I’m sorry to break it to you hardnosed people, but people temporarily making one little area of the game a bit worse for you by using one of the more efficient routes of levelling+gearing =/= tossing this many people out at this kind of point in a release. Get some perspective. If you had to get up for an emergency or whatever kind of reason during a BG would YOU think it justified to get banned for 30 days. Be reasonable.

Think the better punishment would have just been banning them from BGs
Its okay guys, im here to admit I was afk… I was the BG leader most of the games and put it on master looter so i could loot all the 1.5-2k turn-ins i did this weekend. I sat back at base watching netflix and hulu raking in the items to get exatled. Then somehow i got AV all star and was a few caps off GY achieve too. All afk though.
It is worth pointing out that Blizzard looks for patterns in these types of situations. This isn’t the result of one or two instances of non-participation. It’s a repeated behavior.
If you have that many emergencies to get up and tend to, you should probably start leaving the BG before attending to them. It’s not fair to the other 79 people in the match.

I mean if you were trying to farm up Lord whatever with turn ins, don’t deserve a ban, deserve free game time and a medal

I do see at least 1 AFKer fighting wolves or sitting in the cave per game. But once in a while, I do see people urging bg chat to report people AFK as they work on their recall trinket quest.
I legit have a friend in discord that got hit who streamed all his AV’s holding towers to prevent back caps since the enemy faction has largely been back capping games to try and put us behind.
Some of those games are quiet and fights don’t pop off, but if no one defends from the back caps and someone rolls up, its an instant loss.
He contributed more IMO than most people that zerg right to the end passing every objective and waiting for a pull on Drek/Van.
There are people getting hit who should not be. Blizzard is in the wrong here. AV isn’t a BG that is decided by damage / healing alone in terms of participation. I’ve seen plenty of people who just AFK killing NPC’s and skirted right by the ban wave and they contributed literally nothing.

My god, people really think 6 days of suspension for being afk on a BG is ok? It is a game and there is already a punishment in game for being afk as it should be.

my only regret was start to watch a new series, i didnt quite get TB, Uc and Darkspear to exalted with those turn ins, i went from 75% afk to 99.9% afk now how will i get my mounts D:
