Just want to see how all my fellow Prot Warriors are holding up in the new raid. I feel a bit weak. But that just might be me and my weak playstyle/gear lol
Idk I want to play my warrior but also my monk it’s a hard choice love my warrior
Idk, I joined the raid at the scheduled time to find out that they already had a higher ilvl DH tank from another server so I played Fury and got carried instead. Had my new azerite pieces specced to tank and everything. Feelsbadman
Hahah same here went in as a tank. Pug found a dk I switched to arms and got carried. Guess I am an arms war now lol
I ranked gonk, did well as long as I had Mitigation up during raptor
My guild did normal last night and it felt fine. Nothing perfect and a few things were hard to see, but I never felt weak. Tanked next to monk, logs show I definitely took more damage than uldir but less than the monk.
Got 2 of the new 385s from emmisary and 1 from TR. We’re probably starting heroic Thursday and I’ll see how I stack up at that point.
I ranked the first three on normal, damage intake seemed smooth and not to hectic. We’ll see about Heroic though.
Went in as arms, one of the tanks swapped to a healer and I was asked to tank. Didn’t have any issues, first three bosses on normal were winged a bit.
Did some Opulence attempts, felt solid during them.
I’ve only done the first 4 on normal and first 2 on heroic, haven’t had any issues with survivability apart from some pretty nasty damage from the DoT on the first boss which is to be expected with a sustained magic DoT.
One of our MTs is a prot warrior. Did normal up to storm wall yesterday, heroic up to conclave today. He’s been doing very well thus far, both him and our blood dk were getting murdered by heroic Grong but that’s his entire schtick. Nothing else has really presented a survival challenge to our tank team yet.
Yea we had prot war(me)bdk combo on gonk and I tanked gonk and he on paku and we never swapped, he ate all the 5 stakcs
On heroic I haven’t had much trouble up until Conclave. Kimbul’s bleed is just awful at 2 stacks.
We went straight for heroic, were at Conclave currently. Bleeds aren’t too bad since I race change to a dwarf lol, but most of it is coming down to the rest of the raid getting mechanics down and some cleaner tank swaps. My co tank is a Monk and he gets railed by the bleeds where I can take two stack and let it go for about ten seconds then clear it and get another two.
Other than that I seem to be holding up alright. The big ape guy was a PITA for a few pulls but we got it down. So far the raid is a lot of fun.
So far pretty good. My guild is small and pugs mostly. We started normal and rolled up to Conclave first night. I tanked Opulence twice s long as my monk co tank cause of our CDs. He takes more spikey damage. Conclave and Rastakhan took a few attempts but I say that’s more a pug issue with people not staying out of stuff.
Oh yeah, warrior takes almost no damage from coin sweeps, with a block, ignore pain, and the diamond barrier up, you’re taking something like 93% reduced damage. Taking a 350k hit down to a 27k hit, and that’s not even factoring in the chance for critical blocks.
I wonder why I had such a difficult time with the first boss.
The only reason I refuse to tank BfD is the huge chance of getting rage starved in single-target situations. It happens in dungeons and world quests, and it suuuuuuucks. Going multiple GCDs without being able to use Ignore Pain is dumb as hell.
Did the first 2 on heroic last night. A lot of ways the raid can screw tanks in those first 2. Still trying to work out a strat for picking up the adds on the first boss without unintentionally dropping concecrate in the raid.
Grong wasn’t that bad, but being tossed a mile away from the boss and having to rush back berserker rage/taunt off my feared cotank wasn’t enjoyable. Good news is I lucked out on my worst azerite with a pretty awesome trait 400.
Don’t click on the junkpile on the first boss. Tanking is harder when you get turned into a little raptor.
I didn’t find normal to be too punishing besides strategic errors.
Whomever is thrown on needs to escort the tank back, and a melee DPS needs to move to the MT to make sure they don’t get feared, either.
This is the number one universal wipe reason for PUGs.
