BFA/Shadowlands Plotholes List

BFA/Shadowlands plotholes List.

So, thus far:

One accusation that Danuser mostly stole the story arc of the Kingdom Hearts series and made just enough changes to shoehorn it into WoW.

Is this why Shadowlands seem so off lore wise right out the door?

And, with the “death” of Zovaal, and the failure on his part to convey any info on the looming threat

How exactly are we, playing our toons in game, supposed to even begin to prepare?
If this is the plan, this is at best lazy game design.
No ability to prepare will only lead to despair.
And that’s bad writing.
This design scheme inspires literally no confidence. Not in game, not IRL, and especially not in Blizzard right now because they’re using the vacuum of info to … actually, are they even trying to use this for anything right now?

So Danuser ripping off the story premise of Kingdom Hearts is entirely possible and fits a trend.

Sad.

Edit:
So I just remembered Cataclysm’s Dragonsoul Raid.
With Thrall and the, “Final Flash!” energy beam from the orb.
Thrall literally shouted a Vegeta move’s name and copied the pose, as best as could be animated at the time.

The post directly above should be fun to break down.

The first question is answered because Helm of Domination. However, let’s please test that hypothesis: what part of the Helm of Domination’s magic allows said portal to even open in the first place?

No, seriously.

How does breaking the helm open the portal?

The method that Zovaal used to open the portal by way of Sylvanas breaking the helm is not covered to my knowledge, unless I missed something. Which is entirely possible.

However, I was hoping said story point would have been covered thus far?

Does it though? How does shattering the helm shatter the sky, but defeating Zovaal magically close it?

You’d think preserving the helm intact, magicks included would mean a stronger connection to the Maw. But, shattering it apparently makes the helm stronger?

Defeating Zovaal ended the story. No need for a giant hole in the sky if the story is over. Pack up your bags and go home folks, shows over. Lol

Only proves that to date Blizzard seems to give no real thought to the story implications of the living entering the lands of the dead.

How was it that everyone in the SL’s did not always want to eat our toons as food?

No, seriously, think about it.

The living walking through the afterlife are…

  • potential food
  • possession bait
  • parts?
  • life energy, an utterly unknown potential source of power
  • and so much more…

And there was another thread a while back.
How many faiths on Azeroth just got shattered or shaken / shook?
Also, how by extension do the living people’s faiths alter in the face of new knowledge?

Shadowlands claims to be the afterlife for all existence.
The destruction of Theramore Isle mentions that all the Theramores across all the alternate Azeroths were destroyed at once due to the Mana Bomb.

So…

The entire multiverse of WoW’s IP has just the one afterlife?
Well, The Burning Legion has one home.
That’s not one of the issues now.
The Shadowlands have four zones being shown in game.
Has Blizzard ever said how many there are supposed to be in game?

Because four variant afterlives is a pretty small number.
Was the anima drought so bad that the rest simply ceased to exist?

Counterintuitive. I get it.

Although the story has yet to address why.

Edit:

Full quote:

So, yeah.
A first question requires a zeroth question.

When the Helm of Domination was made, what powers did it have?
There have been story retcons to much of the lore to shoehorn in Zovaal.
Was The Helm also retconned at least slightly, thus altering its powers as well?

Did The Helm even have the ability to open said portal before it was animated into the SL’s expansion opening cinematic?

So, style over substance.

Wait.
How is that any different than anything Blizzard has ever done before?

Hmmm accusations of plagarism?

Thats what the forums are for. Go tell disney if you have issue rofl

Disney? Why?

The entire idea of Intellectual Property is based upon patent expiration.

Until more recently, patents had a grandfather clause more often than not.

22 years after a patent was considered expired and the idea became public knowledge.

I think the Grandfather clause at least partially applies to some older businesses which have yet to go out of business, so the law considers those patents still active?

Edit:

And all modern IP’s, especially the three known lawsuits, are considered before the 22 year old mark. thus, Blizzard sampling from another IP without saying so is a crime.

Why was he called “the jailer” instead of “the jailed”?

Bad writing?

Not that such a claim is anything new, sadly.

I think blaming it on “bad writing” is too easy and trivializes the problem.

Seems like this is another case where nobody at Blizzard talks to each other, which is a big problem not just in the story but in all other aspects of gameplay as well.

Having us fight against the jailer of the damned is fine. It’s just that somebody else decided the “jailer of the damned” was the one who was locked up.

Agreed.

Internal communication at Blizzard should be vastly improved compared to now.

What we as paying customers did not know until more recently was the employee situation.

Upper management literally preying on lower ranking staff is never going to inspire employee confidence.

Even if it’s only one.
