I think 99% of ppl agree, especially for arena. The only people I’ve seen refute this are players who got by far their highest ratings in bfa. They convince themselves the game is fine when they just like the status of being good at a game.
Question is will shadowlands be better or worse?

so basically destro, rogue, mage, hpal, mw. Specially this expansion rogue mage is played like a melee cleave. Zugzug on the healer use everything on opener.

The most I did in WoD was bg’s, but the only good thing about it was the opening video. BFA has been decent.
For some sure, but we cant generalize all tier 1 specs. Any 3k mage who played mop even if their ceiling was 2.2 has to miss it, and by now im sure half the destros are affi/demo mains on autopilot that are dead inside. Even with how good MWs are this season and S1, most top tier monks I know hate their design and miss past ones. Rogue/mage… well they always been broken but never been so tanky that they can just W key towards you at all times so pick your poison.
I really do think between 99-99.9% of players who played past xpacs believe bfa to be the worst though. I had that sentiment in 8.0 and that was by far the most fun patch this xpac because everything was still “new” even though it was clearly a downgraded game. Ok I did have fun at the START of 8.3, maybe 2-4 weeks of fun but we are 8 months into corruption/visions/echoes/memento farmville and I’m nauseous just typing about it.

I actually had fun towards the end of notorious season and a bit this season. I’ve mostly moved on to pve this season because that’s far more entertaining atm, sometimes people trick me into qing 3s and I haven’t had a single game in like 5 weeks that hasn’t had at least one destro. Had one friend remove me for saying I didn’t enjoy this ssn
I can’t even fathom what type of argument a person would make to defend the idea that BFA is the worst xpac yet. It became pretty obvious after season 2 and 3 that this xpac is going to be an absolute disaster until its very end.
Not one aspect about BFA so far has been looked at with positivity or potential. The borrowed system is worse than what Legion had. The class design imo is much worse for more than 50% of the classes compared to Legion or previous xpacs. The glad requirement change has been frowned on by the majority of the PvP player base. Comp diversity is probably at its worst taking into account that destro continued to be disgustingly broken for more than 2 seasons in a row while more than 3 specs have consistently been unviable (aff, mm/bm hunt, sub/outlaw rogue etc…) without receiving any substantial changes for almost an entire expansion. Corruptions initially have been thrilling to experiment with, but then turned into a very unlikable system largely due to the grind and rng factor. Lastly, the discrepancy between PvE gear and PvP gear in arena + obtaining gear has been abysmal. So overall, this xpac sucks lol.

It looks like you’re stating this exclusively in reference to arena, which is fine since this is the Arena forums. People are going to look back (in the next expansion) and then WISH they were back in BFA lol. Human nature; hindsight
Really? Because I don’t really look back and wish I was in legion. I wish I was in mop or wod.

Haha, right. I mean, I don’t do that but it’s a common thing. I didn’t play Legion at all. WoD was so bad it drove me that far away haha. MoP and those Pandareans seemed (still does) pretty silly. So BFA has been mostly enjoyable for me. I’m optimistic about SL, if I keep playing.
That’s correct. I am speaking strictly from an avid arena player perspective. But also if you were to look at the bigger picture, every other feature that this game offers (starting from borrowed systems all the way to lore transition/integration) is not engaging or fun to partake in.
I think this ordinarily happens if the expansion that preceded the latest one happens to be in any way enjoyable. But I genuinely don’t find any elements about BFA to be engrossing or fun to dabble in besides arenas (when I feel like retaining some of that competitive 3v3/2v2 urges). But then again, this is purely subjective.
People decked out in broken OP PvE gear doing tons of passive damage and healing…

Yea one of the fails of BFA is the lack of lore or any understanding/connection to a story. So even though there are more things to do, there’s no real point to it other than it being for character performance. SL doesn’t appear to improve on this.
I’m not saying BFA is great, but to say it’s the worst? Nah son
In terms of PvE the game was average/above average.
PvP was awful and I got my highest rating ever in both brackets this expansion.

This is not human nature as much as it is Blizzard’s record. You don’t play GTA san andreas thinking “oh my god I wish I was playing GTA 1 instead”.
World of Warcraft is the rare game that seems to get worse over time instead of better. How many gaming companies manage to do that consistently? I get that it happens sometimes like with LOU2 but with Blizzard? It’s become a meme at this point.

In my opinion, BFA is definitely better than WoD overall. So, saying that the game just gets worse and worse wouldn’t be accurate. Also, I doubt that very many people would claim that Wrath was worse than TBC…
