BfA won Gamers` Choice Awards 🏆

Well that sure shows that the Gamer’s Choice Awards is a farce and it’s rigged.

Why would they pick the worst xpac for WoW to finally win? Unless they know there won’t be anymore xpacs perhaps and that WoW is dead? So this is more of a Lifetime Achievement Award?

I like the game. it same like a good idea. sense no rules where being broken.

Should have allowed negative votes too so that it would balance out or maybe go negative.

The only reason haters are mad about the reward now blizzard can use it to get new players or even old players to try out WoW as a ad and the TV atleast got people attention on this MMOrpg.:)

Trolled?
You mean how some of us felt insulted that we can’t get simple communication to clarify simple issues yet we get communication “reminding” people to vote for a gamers choice award?
Idk about any of the other posters but I still feel that way.

Look at the blues forum statistics. They tell quite a story about how active they are within this forum community.
Unless ofc they are on their alts and not their blues…

Yep so much for omgerd wow is dying. See told you it’s doing great.

This is baffling.

Whilst it is certainly the case that there are bound to be players who think BfA is the bees knees, the rate of abandonment of BfA is astonishingly high. On my server, there is hardly anyone in the zones and no one is talking in trade chat. My guild cleared H Uldir, then most of the players stopped logging in and I suspect they won’t be back until 8.1.5. This is the quietest I have EVER seen my server. It feels like the lull in the 3-6 months at the END of an xpac.

Do you have a source for this claim?

You’re one of those people who are stunned when their weather app is completely wrong too right?

Everyone’s experience may be different but there sure seems to be a lot experiencing a decline from what we have seen since we started.

At least classic will be here come summer!
I’m past the “I’m vested” stage and started playing other games. /shrug
To each their own.

Are you saying that you haven’t experienced the following?

  1. Significantly reduced log-ins amongst guildmates.
  2. Significantly reduced trade and chat in the trade channel.
  3. Visibly fewer players in the BfA zones and Dazar’Alor/Boralus.
  4. Fewer players queueing for content in group finder.

In all four cases, the amount of activity on my server is about on par with the end of an xpac.

As for having a source - I am not a journalist, nor is there any reasonable expectation that I should have to supply sources and data for comments I make in GD. The idea that I should is profoundly disingenuous.

LFR ques are the same same with LFG maybe is just those area that aren’t being used and warfronts are still haveing alot of people around. Also the islands are about the same.

When you’re claiming something as fact, it’s usually good to have something to back it up. You can say that it feels like things are thinning out–that’d be realistic and genuine to you. But you don’t know. And I don’t know. And no one really knows except the Blizzard people. And they’re not talking.

There’s definitely a lot of stuff you can talk about without making groundless conjecture. Some good. Some bad. But if you really want to talk about stuff–talk about how it feels to you. That’s something that people can’t really take away from you and it’s far more powerful than making stuff up.

LFR and LFD queues should only change if a role imbalance comes into effect. A much more reliable guide is the number of players using Group Finder.

You realize that just because WoW won doesn’t actually mean it’s better, right? The Choice Awards have become the same circlekjerk that the Oscars and Emmys are. Quality doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is who can pander to the “game journalists” the most. We, the gamers, don’t have actually a choice in who or what wins those awards.

Just speaking for my server but there are zero signs of that happening here it’s still very active and i keep seeing people from my server more then others on here. Also at full even on non peak times.

True but it does mean they can use the reward to get people to give wow a try now.

I clearly stated, in the post in question, the basis for my claim. And it was clearly anecdotal and personal. People are free to assess the value of that anecdotal evidence. But it is disingenuous to dismiss it out of hand because I don’t have a third party source to back it up. And precisely because of what you stated - that a third party source or data could not exist due to Blizzard’s secretiveness. It is likely that the poster would have known this as they made their response to my post.

Instead, a much more reasonable response for a General Discussion forum would have been to discuss whether my observations of activity on my server were mirrored on other servers, and whether such observations are a reliable indicator of activity (which I think they probably are).

Hmm, has a 3.1 on metacritic. Lower than WoD

I wonder, how much did Activision pay for this award?

A shame Square Enix blew their budget paying all those people to leave garbage user reviews for BfA and not having enough to outspend Blizzard for the Game Awards Show.
