BfA won Gamers` Choice Awards 🏆

No. There is no legitimacy to this award. If the process could be corrupted it likely was.

The simplest explanation is that it was a Paid for award to use in marketing. No one even heard of this before a Blue posted it .

No. It only requires ONE person (who need not tell anyone else) to do something like that to skew the results of a ‘fan’ voted award. Just as it only requires one person to create a botnet for other purposes.

You mean all those paid for reviews for video games? Video game reviews have been a joke for almost 20 years when companies like EA and Activision started paying for them

I don’t really get why the people that don’t like BFA are trying so hard to invalidate something like this gamers choice award.

Even if the YouTube likes/dislikes for the survival video are valid (I don’t believe they are since the are not a truely random sample) if just the people that upvoted it cast votes for WoW that would likely be enough for it to win.

There were something like 2 million total votes cast and the MMORPG category was just one small category that was announced at the end.

The Big winners were Fortnight (Game of the Year) and Ninja Streamer of the year (go figure).

WoW winning doesn’t invalidate how anyone personally feels about the game or the expansion.

Since no MMO teams announce their numbers then every MMO must be losing people right?

Your guild doesn’t speak for the health of the game, anecdotal evidence isn’t fact.

I don’t pay attention to critics, personally. If I never watched, read, played, whatever, anything with negative critical reviews I’d have missed out on tons of great movies, shows, books, games, etc. The reverse is also true… If I only watched, read, played, whatever, things with positive reviews I’d have seen, read, played, etc. some real trash.

My comment to the person I originally replied to was based on his use of only “critics” and “fanbois” while leaving out that “haters” do exactly the same thing… Claim everyone agrees with them and when someone doesn’t it makes no difference because that person(s) doesn’t matter anyway.

Of course critics are paid. They do what they do for a living.

But to claim that critics have some kind of agenda other than their personal opinion is disingenuous at best. Just like claiming that “0 bombing” is legitimate just because players are the ones doing it. I’d say the players have more of an agenda than the professional critics ever thought of having.

Had Blizzard lost these same people would be boasting how their “opinions” a valid through the “very best” player voting awards show and that everyone else are shills.

Since they are found out to be a minority opinion they will do everything to discredit the vote.

The ‘vote’ discredited itself by allowing multiple votes by the same email account.

Wow has had a monopoly on the whole of the mmorpg genre for an entire decade. It came to be with the power of extraordinary history and a following no other franchise could have possibly enjoyed. The award doesn’t mean this expansion is exceptionally good nor exceptionally bad. It simply shows that the monopoly continues unabated, nothing more. It will take great ambition and more than a little risk for any game to dethrone WOW even in the foreseeable future. Whether that is objectively a good thing or a bad thing for gamers is up for debate.

No, you’re right, little Billy voted hundreds of thousands of time for BfA and that’s how they won.

You have any proof to your fairytale or are you just sad that you’re opinion isn’t the majority?

I don’t give a rat’s stinky backside what anyone else says about BfA, my opinion is that it is a bad expac that was released way too early, with mediocre content, a weak story and terrible class design.

Yes, I still play, call me crazy, but I’m hoping the devs finally listen and clean this mess up. Sadly, that hope fades more and more each day. Would it really be that bad to just admit they screwed it up and need help fixing things? Not really, it would show a little bit of wisdom though. Am I one of the people that would help them fix it? Probably not the best choice, I’ll admit that, but they have how many subscribers who’s opinions they can draw from?

Make a game for the players and it will pay off in the short and long-term. I want to see that happen, so no, I will not praise lazy design and shoddy workmanship. Make something worthy of praise and you will get it.

Semper Fi! :us:

This was not a vote on BFA this was a vote on World of Warcraft. WoW is still the best mmorpg out there, sure BFA has some problems but over all WoW is still the best. A well deserved reward. Grats Blizzard.

Blizzard made a point of telling their players there was a competition and to go vote.

Final Fantasy did nothing to promote existence of the Gamer’s Choice awards to its players or ask its players to go vote.

I have no idea what other games were in the running and whether their developers asked their players to go vote. I have no idea what generic gaming fansites were asking readers/listeners to go vote.

But safe to say that the candidate campaigning to get votes is likely going to win over one that doesn’t.

Of course they would they hate the fact in reality wow is doing fine heck someone just proved in a different trend there are easily 4million people doing some form of Mythic+ so the wow is dying is a loud of lies.

it was limited to once per hour and every other fan for other games could do the same so it was fair playing field here.

So you think Raider IO is proof there are atleast 4 million players (lmao) doing M+ , But Realm staus and the APK leak that showed 1.7 million North American subs left are bogus? Okkkkkkk

I’m surprised it won. FFXIV’s fanbase seems much more unified than BFA’s right now.

For the record, I hate that game.

To be fair, the selection said " World of Warcraft BFA "
