I played and raided all the way to the end of WoW, I enjoyed myself. I just gave up in the middle of 8.2 in BFA because of the stupid grinds, essences are one of the worst. 8.3 was even worse with corruption and Visions. BFA is by far the worst expansion for me, I don’t care if I even log in on most days. WoD I had reason to log in every day.
Personally, I liked WoD more than BfA.
Someone summed it up nicely in another thread a while back.
Something about a single amazing cracker versus cheap unending nachos.
My take away was that I was hungry afterwards. 
The fact that people can consider BFA average and not terrible shows how far they’ve fallen.

The garrison stuff was not two years worth of content unless you’re talking about the pvp part of it and Tanaan came out year (IIRC?) after the game was released. I enjoyed Tanaan, and did the achievements and got all the mounts, but it was not enough. There should have been 3 or 4 “Tanaan Jungles” like there was in MoP.
In WoD I could play alts doing pvp in endgame. BFA I have to do endless chores in order to play pvp in the endgame.
Yeah, I’ll take WoD over BFA anyday.
wotlk was obviously the best expansion, make heroics great again.
Yeah I quit in Wod cus there was nothing to do lol I absolutely hated that I was forced to do the Garrison no choice whatsoever cus if you didn’t you were locked out of content there was absolutely nothing to do except for end game raiders so sad cus the theme and story of the xpac hyped me up sooooo much! But ultimately became the most disappointing thing ever.
WoD had very little content, but most of the content that was there was very good.
BFA has tons of content, but most of the content is awful.
I would personally rather have 1 steak made by gordan ramsey than 30 Mcdoubles.
The only thing wod beat bfa on was class design and alt friendliness.
BfA had good raid content, outside of that it has been hot garbage. Islands? A flop. Warfronts? A flop. Warmode? Game breaking. Grinds? Cranked upto 10. Gameplay? Driven by RNG. Alt friendly? If you consider not playing them friendly. PvP? Do we even need to go into it. M+? Fun for the 3 viable classes.
I could go on but I wont.
