BFA will be history, as the worst WoW expansion ever

I loved leveling through Drustvar the first time, and haunted mansions are cool so Waycrest was a big thumbs up from me.

My enjoyment of BFA mostly ended there, though. :frowning:

WoD raiding, pvp, and CMs were good. Classes were more balanced. We didn’t have borrowed power systems. The only downside of WoD was the lack of content outside of those 3 areas. The “casual” content was extremely barren due to them focusing on garrisons.

Very few people will say WoD was a good overall expansion when compared across the board, but it was miles better than BFA. BFA came with broken systems that forced players to do massive grinds to compete.

Of course someone like you who isn’t skilled enough to raid or do M+ is going to sit here on the forums and say crap like “ackshually these people are just revisionists who aren’t remembering right”

I enjoyed it and I was there . Got Legendary Ring and Aotc for Hellfire Citadel .

I actually kept playing it up through Legion pre-patch where as BfA I can’t remember how long from the time I stopped playing to the SL pre-patch .

I’m thinking maybe some time in late May early June.

im over here like, wod and bfa are in my top 3 with mop.

The raids in BFA were good, and in some cases really good, whereas there was only 1 good boss in all of cata and the last 2 tiers were 2 of the worst overall tiers of raidings this game has seen.

WoD is clearly the worst just due to the lack of content it provided, even if I still think HFC is a top 5 overall raid for me and Blackhand is a top 5 fight, but Cata had content and it was just terrible from top to bottom.

Nope.

WoD easily beats out Battle for Abilities. Better class design and better raid design too.

Battle for Abilities is Fisher Price class design with pointless chores.

Class design was a joke in WoD and there basically were no raids. The dungeons were terrible, there were only 2 tiers of content and while I liked Blackhand and most of HFC that is simply not good enough.

In terms of Dungeons and Raids BFA is a top 3 expansion. The systems they designed were fundamentally flawed and were a little too passive to help separate the good player from the bad for damage, but the overall fight design and dungeon design was fantastic.

WoD I can say literally nothing good about. Pandaria had fantastic raids and solid class design and WoD decided to just have no real content as its solution. Cata had a similar problem.

BFA basically first bombed the azerite leveling system by making it ridiculously alt unfriendly (which was a problem for ALL of BFA so I will not mention it again) AND making it early on so that you actually could not wear upgrades because your neck was not high enough to make it an upgrade which made upgrades feel terrible. They then fixed it later but the damage was done

Then the corruption system was another good idea executed poorly and not really thought out well until they let you pick your corruptions but by then it was too late and even then the corruptions for many classes were not really game changing and were either TD for tanks (just do what you do and when TD procs yay) or just raw stats (just do what you do and it hits harder) and they did not really have the effect that a tier bonus or fun trinket would have.

WoD Class design is advanced/expert level compared to Battle for Abilities. Battle for Abilities with its fisher price class design was only protected by a shallow facade of layers of rental systems with pointless busy work.

Well, at the very least playing my class in both PvE and PvP was fun in WoD.

Exactly.

This is known by many WoW veterans.

I loved just about everything about wod but the dungeons and pathfinder.

Gear design was better too in WoD compared to BFA RNG mess.

Ignoring the name thing (can you not though it feels like I am talking with a 7 year old when they have to use name calling to make a point), having content even bad beats not having any content at all. WoD had no content. 2 raid tiers for an entire expansion is simply not okay. There was easily an entire tier of content just missing from the game and it made it boring.

BFA had its problems and its why I think I have it overall as the 3rd worst expansion but even Cata, with the mess that it was, at least tried to give players content and even a bad raid is better than having to play a good raid for WAY too long (and its not like BRF was exactly a top 5 raid as it had 2 memorable fights and then some really easy ones or cheesy ones).

I meant more the class design and how everything just worked.

To drive the point home: ENHANCEMENT AND FERAL WAS ACTUALLY ABLE TO NOT SUCK!

Idk BFA had some interesting raids tbh.

Good questing zones.

Uh I mean Azerite wasn’t to bad when BoD hit.

BFA was a very meh expansion.

Wod, I feel like was very good, until the later patches, where it just became a snoozefest. Like Wod had solid start to its expansion, and just couldn’t keep the good going.

We’d have to be blind to not see what they tried to do to WoW. They are trying to turn it into a cell phone game. Lock outs, limits on play time, gating, time delayed releases of content, severe levels of gathering limits for quest completions that have weekly limits.

By that I mean limit your game time to make you angry and come back, or spend more to advance. IT is so obvious it hurts that they are just preying on people that love the game to justify the game’s existence now.

Look at the asinine changes they implemented into Shadowlands and are not quite altering to just let it be free…lock outs, etc…it’s a f—ing cell phone game tactic.

Well if it was a phone game, they would have more events to help catch up your characters.

Battle for Abilities also finished with a bad final patch due to corruption shenanigans that utterly broke the game. BlizZard let the meta evolve and then suddenly started balancing only when corruptions showed up on vendors.

BFA is bad in many ways as it was the most instanced expansions ever with warfronts and island expeditions being flops too.

Going by the amounts of bugs and issues with the prepatch and the problems still unresolved with Shadowlands, I think you might be underestimating how bad things can potentially get.
