Is this right? I play one expansion behind, so I’m still in BFA and going to SL when the next expansion starts (no judgements, please, I have my own reasons for doing so). Anyway, quest mobs went from lvl 50 on Monday to lvl 60 on Wed. morning when I played and Tia’Kawan was a lvl 62 elite that knocked me completely across the zone killing me instantly. I am NOT on Chromie time, have never played it. What the HECK is going on when an expansion that is now FOUR years old is scaling max level outside of Chromie time? Is that right? I noticed when I went to Nazjatar mobs were still Lvl 50.
Yes that’s right.
Players can now level all the way to level 60 in any expansion via Chromie Time, or they can do so in BFA content. There’s no longer a requirement to do 10 levels in Shadowlands content.
What that unfortunately means is that BFA content isn’t going to be as easy as players might expect it to be in Dragonflight, because it’s will be 10 levels below max in Dragonflight, not 20 as would have been expected.

Is BfA not in Chromie for it to scale?
Well that says a lot about how bad SL must have been if they’re making “not necessary” to get to lvl 60. Geeze, I may wind up in Dragonflight sooner than I thought. The next 2 years may not bode well for me. Wow.

I don’t think it’s a matter of whether or not Shadowlands was ‘bad’ (because honestly levelling through the zones to get to 60 was actually pretty good) it’s more the fact that they don’t want to repeat mistakes of the past, which was forcing players to experience small pieces of every expansion and make a jumble of the story.
Personally I am not the biggest fan of BFA being set as ‘the standard’ since it tells the story that leads up to Shadowlands and then… suddenly everyone is at peace and Sylvanas is just gone, like a fart in the wind. I hope that when 11.0 releases that Dragonflight will be the standard for leveling from 10-70 instead.

Black Empire assault on Vale of Eternal Blossoms and itsLesser Visions have mobs that remain level 50-52. doesn’t look like they activated scaling there
but elsewhere in bfa, most of the world mob appear to have an upgrade. in particular, the blighted monstrosity is a level 62 elite with 1.6M health, but the soul goliath is 52 with about 230k
for most of SL, i could do those Azerite woons WQs without aggroing the level 50 mobs loitering, but now it’s back to cowabungaitis
oh btw, the cache of the black empire can still give out 2000g
