It was the fourth war, so unofficial Warcraft 4 release.
i would like BFA in the form of an rts
I sometimes wonder how certain expansions would have played out if they had packaged them as an RTS instead of an MMO. What would a designer choose as our factions each expansion, which raids or zones would be what sort of maps, etc.
Fun to think about!
Wouldn’t Warcraft 4 be a Real Time Strategy Game?
Really disappointed they dissolved the RTS team, after not allowing them to make War4 or SC3.
It would have been amazing to get War4 in the lead up to War Within and the 20th anniversary of wow.
RTS is a dying game, whatever was good at is is taken by civilization 6
RTS is a genre, not a game. But thanks for the input.
Ok you edited this. Civilization games are not RTS games.
Civ is turn based, it isn’t a “real-time strategy” game.
I would love to see this more frequently. Releasing a WCIII type game every few years as a compliment to the wow story.
Again, RTS is a dying game. Only thing that’s still good at it is civilization 6/Ages of Empire 4
Ashes of Singularity is a meme game as it’s only used for benchmarks not even to play the game
You know this, stop being dumbfounded
Again, RTS is a genre of video games, it is not a game.
Civilization games are turn based games. They are not “Real Time Strategy” games.
You don’t seem to understand what you’re talking about.
Ok, this confirms you’re trolling. Hope you had fun. Setting to permanently ignored. Have a good day.
Yes! It would have been a great way to establish new lore, that could be further explored and realized in wow. Just like War3 set up Vanilla >TBC > Wrath
Yeah, WoW players love it when you have to buy something else to understand the story.
I remember when i got the 4th war achivment. I was like: what? there’s a war?
Would have loved to play BFA alongside a RTS Warcraft to better represent the scale and the battles you read about on the war table but don’t participate in.
I was under the impression SC2 pretty much wrapped up the entirety of the main plot of Starcraft.
I get that it’s a solid universe and you could tell other stories within it, but I don’t think there’s really any room left for a proper SC3 without it being basically a spinoff.
It’d totally work as a Destiny-esque MMO-Lite though.
That aside, Starcraft in general has always struggled with making its entire campaign basically one big tutorial, and I really hate that. I’d like them to make an RTS that doesn’t slowly unlock the way the game is meant to be played over the course of a dozen missions one day. Restricting things for certain missions can be interesting, but not for most of the game as Blizzard repeatedly did.
I assume this is more of an RTS thing than a Starcraft thing, but idk, always bugged me.
