BFA Turned Out To Be a Great Expansion

I don’t care that a couple of YouTubers or Streamers pretending to speak for the player base keep saying that overall BFA was received “negatively” by the fans.

What kind of fake news is that?

You can tell with these well done cinematics that Blizz cares about the story of this game and puts a lot of effort into delivering an engaging plot. Anyone saying otherwise is just wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed the expansion so far and I can’t wait for last patch so we can see how we get to save Azeroth and what Sylvanas has up her sleeve.

RIP Saurfang.

It is a very low budget version of MoP

Worst expansion so far.

Dropped this expansion a little over six weeks in. Nothing about it was better than Legion other than a few class design changes, everything else at every level, other than art, was worse.

I dont think you paid attention if you think the only people that disliked BfA were “a few youtubers and streamers”, lets be real.

I’m not a huge fan of how they introduced this as a “faction war” expansion… and then it turned into the same story as every expansion goes.

Felt like the quests were pretty “meh”, and their allied race system was pretty laughable in terms of how they were unlocked. Timegating is an awful thing to implement to be able to play as a new race and saying “well, we did that because they aren’t bew races, they’re ALLIED races”. Which equates to “we timegated a huge selling point of our expansion because they’re reskins with some slightly different classes/racials”.

I will say unlocking the Mag’har (and I am assuming Dark Iron as well) was not as tedious as Nightborne or Highmountain. Several zones full of several dailies, different ways to farm rep, etc. I still maintain that timegating races is a horrible business practice, if you want us to work for them that’s fine, but dont timegate it. But i felt honorbound went way faster than the other races.

If you liked it, that’s great. More power to you.

An engaging plot for who? A lot, if not most, of us predicted everything that happened, but were told “wait and see” as if they would throw something unexpected in.

Pretty much this. Worst expansion from a story PoV. Gameplay is good, better than most MMOs imo but still worse than previous expansions.

I farmed for Draenor Pathfinder from the moment I logged in to the moment I logged off when 6.2 released and I still feel this was a bigger waste of my time. No reward. Just yet another title that means nothing because it has no prestige behind it. The content felt like world quests, made to be repeated every week. Nothing like the earlier quest that had you turn into a blood troll to set bombs. That was unique and cool.

Blizzard somehow managed to downgrade their entire game.
Gameplay is a significant step down from Legion and the story as a whole feels half baked and rushed. Never reaching its potential because its rushed to the next stage and wasn’t executed properly.

I came into this expansion thinking it was just going to be a repeat of MoP but without pandas and if you noticed but we had siege vehicles ready to siege Orgrimmar. Literally what happened in SoO was Garrosh is defeated but doesn’t die (like Sylvanas) and Anduin (Or Varian back then) tries to make peace with the Horde. There’s nothing really preventing Blizzard from making the Night Elves attack the Horde and them thinking Alliance betrayed them just to cause another war.

This feels like the end of the beginning of a story, not and end to the whole story.

I don’t like what they did to queen azshara / her raid I didn’t enjoy and she was a villain for 15-20 + years in this universe , boring …

I literally both enjoyed and hated it more than WoD so wouldn’t say great I rank it below cata and wrath

This is one of those expansions that is excellent to pick up at the .2.5 patch. If I’d started now I’d have nothing to complain about. As a complete package, it’s a nice game and story.

I thought the end of the war campaign and those cinematics made all the difference, I loved it. Seriously gave me chills.

But I will always be a little sad that Azshara got a patch and a raid instead of an expansion

edit: oh, and Tyrande not being able to squash Nathanos like a bug will always be bad story. ALWAYS.

To be honest, I wanted a bit more happening on EK and Kalimdor this expansion to better reflect the war part, but other than that this expac was pretty enjoyable story-wise.

It also gave Void Elves character, and story so yay for us!

Yeah the war campaign should’ve been done earlier on and the raids not having to do with the storyline, that way the main story and main pve aspect is different.

I agree streamers don’t have a clue. Most of them are just trying to make some money anyways. Negative news is always good news!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I don’t hate any expansion. I never have. They all have good things and they all have bad. And, while BfA certainly had plenty of flaws, I did enjoy it more than I disliked it.

I agree, this expansion certainly has more at stake for the story than… ahem “It was all a dream” WoD, LMAO

Look, Thrall didn’t cheat.

Garrosh cheated. He used a bronze dragon to go back in time, to a different planet, right before he was going to be executed as a captured war-criminal.

So when Thrall finally caught up to him to ask him what he wanted his “last meal” to be, when Garrosh said “Mak’gora!” Thrall was probably just being complacent to the request, but when the time came, there was no real challenge. ZAP!!! Executed. Garrosh ran from that, pretended he was a war-chief again, but alas… “It was all a dream,” and he FINALLY got executed as the same war-criminal he was at the end of MoP.

BFA even showed how Thrall lived with that. He wasn’t the new war-chief of Garrosh’s fantasy-land. Not at all. But he did go back to OG Draenor, HIS Draenor, and tried to act as a war-chief for there. Weird. Kind of like how he dealt with being the AU “it was all a (Garrosh’s) dream.” thing that was WoD.

That’s actually pretty solid resolution that BFA put forward, I think. Really says a lot about Thrall and his headspace from how that WoD hunt ended.

I lot of people forget how exciting the start of BFA was. I think the game systems let it down. Other than that i am sure that they will hve some new exciting expansion beginning soon. Starting at the blizzcon announcement.
