Bit confused here. I went to BFA, horde side. Did the intro questline. Unlocked the Scout map. The only choice on it is Zuldazar. Do we just not get to pick where we start anymore? Like I wanted to start the Vol’dun series first. I know you used to be able to do this.
After pre patch this doesn’t seem to be the case anymore?
Does anyone know how far into the Zuldazar quest line you need to be in order to unlock Vol’dun? Is Vol’dun maybe level locked option? My character is level 17, if that does say, unlock at 20 or some weirdness.
Edit - Seems they level restricted these 2 side zones now. Bit of a bummer, seems I have to wait till 35 to gain access to Vul’dun now

I think they’re level restricted. My mid-level alts had the normal choice, but my fresh characters were forced to stay in zandalar.
Any idea how high (minimal) of a level you need to unlock the 2 other zones?
You can look in-game, since level ranges are displayed when you hover over a zone on the world map. Should be 25 for Nazmir, and 30 for Voldun.

Yea, just ran into Nazmir, seen everything is 25. Vol’dun shows up as ??? though. Thanks for the info. Seems my answer is level 30!
I honestly didn’t mind it because the first time I did BfA on my Belf pally, I did the Vol’dun > Nazmir > Zandalr route.
So getting to do Zandalr first is fine with me, especially since I never finished the zone.
Just weird they went that road. Used to pick any of the 3 to start in. Really wanted to tame the serpents on my new hunter in Vol’dun. Now I have to wait
They probably went that route because that’s where new players are directed to the first playthrough. They probably wanted to keep a strict storyline flow for the new experience for new players.
Getting to level 25 is just a sneeze and you’ll be there.
I suppose. You’d think they let veteran players continue with choice in the matter. Zone says 35-50 on it. Guessing 35 is the magic number.
Not really in any rush to level hunter alts. More of a side project. Nice to clear up the lack of choice confusion at least.
Thanks for the responses.
I was thinking you’d get all choices to you when you hit lvl 40 I think or 35. It kind of relates to the idea that BFA wasn’t meant to be done for 40 levels so there is that break point but before that they basically had to implement a level restriction to emulate hitting 114 or w.e to unlock another war campaign, etc… as you’d do from 110-120.
Just a guess though.
