Bfa >>>>>>>>> sl

That’s my hill, I’m plantin’ my standard & dyin’ on it. Maybe for the hard-core raiders & PVP hounds BFA was “bad,” but for uber-casual solo scrubs like me who only want to dork around & have some fun, BFA was superior to SL in pretty much every way.

In fact, IMO, every previous expac was superior to SL, which strictly for me fails in every significant way. I wish I’d taken advantage of the early refund opportunity :frowning:

I mean… to be fair it’s hardly even started yet. There’s still time to improve things. I think every expansion gets some grumbling and hate at the start. Hell I remember seeing Legion Sux threads on the daily at launch.

Not saying there isn’t plenty wrong that needs fixing, but I think it’s too early to really say where it falls on the expansion tier list just yet.

Enjoy your hill. Be sure to stake your tent securely because of the added wind exposure.

But I’ll be over here, enjoying SL much more than BfA. ~.^

If that’s your opinion, then that’s fair enough.

Shadowlands in my opinion has been a better launch than most other expansions. The shortcoming now is we’ve been stuck in 9.0 for longer than any previous X.0 patch, and the reason that in particular is bad is, in many cases, the other expansions that are remembered more fondly were either improved or fixed in their X.1 patches. Most launched for expansions have been pretty bad, but the next patch comes quickly after to fix it up.

We aren’t getting that with Shadowlands as quickly, so it’s making the game feel far more stale and bad.

This is just my opinion, however.

The story to BFA was so confusing, that questing was an absolute nightmare and the entire process was completely unenjoyable and eye rolling. So on a story perspective alone I would have to disagree.

Same here, man. SL saved my sub.

I think SL is better in some aspects. But I wouldn’t compare a full fledged BfA to a newly started SL. Let’s see how it develops! It’s bound to change a lot as patches go on, you might be singing a different tune later. For me I think the biggest issue is we’re just in a dry spell right now because 9.1 is taking longer than usual. It feels worse because things aren’t moving yet where they have in previous expansions.

And many people weren’t happy with BfA from start to finish so depends who you ask. Some might prefer it, but for others SL is night and day better even despite its own current flaws.

Everyone has their own opinion of course.

For me Shadowlands is way better.

I agree, I like shadowlands but If I were to pick one I would choose legion anyways so, it’s okay

So why are you still here months later? It sounds like you regretted it since but continue to still play.

There’s definitely some truth here tbh, I can’t say I disagree. I resubbed to FF a month into SL… which is what I do when I’m bored of WoW. I didn’t sub to FF in BFA until after I finished getting all the rewards from visions.

Legion was a great expansion, my personal favorite.

Not BFA and borderline WoD. Legion and others are superior for sure.

You know how opinions work right? He can’t be wrong, as you say, for enjoying one thing more than another.

I definitely enjoyed bfa drop rates more than SL. Bonus rolls existed to which was nice. I really wish they didnt nerf gear acquisition. It just killed the game for me personally.

I am genuinely curious to hear you explain this in a little more detail please.
how do you measure that level of enjoyment to other x-pacs, maybe I missed some thing.
When I break down the features and look at each x-pac separately both BfA and SL are found somewhat wanting, and I would rate both of them at a 5 out of 10.

Pretty much my thoughts too. There are things I liked about bfa and there are things I hated. Same goes for SL.

I’m somewhat casual myself and I enjoyed BFA so much more. The world quests were better and had solid rewards. Mythic+ were easier and had better gear that actually dropped. Warfronts and island expeditions were far more fun than Torghast and the Maw. And travel was easier with more flight paths and a whistle. And in my opinion, the campaign was far more engaging and interesting.

Through a guild leaders perspective. BfA was non-stop grind, grind, grind. So many systems that needed upkeep. We were exhausted. I don’t ever want to do that again. SL is soooooooo much better.

And if the solution to that is: don’t play significant expac features and gimp your team - well then it’s a terrible expac. Believe me, as soon as a system could be cut from the list, it was - and there was still too much that needed to be done. Compared to SL, where it takes… an evening, to do everything, and now not even that. (as things fall off the list)

Now if I played the expacs as I played Cata - with no end game content engaged in at all - well then all expacs are at minimum a 7.
