So BFA been out for a little while now, and I’ve sort of just stumbled upon this. I was leveling one of my alts through stormsong, and I kept repeatedly dying to some of the quilboar. I thought to myself, does anyone else think the theme of BFA really is a let down compared to Legion, or really any other xpac for that matter? Personally I think that going from killing the Legion on their home world, to helping farmers really is a disappontment.
It definitely is a big switch, killing interstellar demons to clearing rats out of barns.
But where else could we go? The power level of our characters basically resets every expansion and we go from murdering gods to having to run away from two very aggressive squirrels.
If they didn’t tone down things, at this point we’d be killing whole galaxies with a single attack.
Who dies to quill boar?
I actually don’t mind Blizz dialing it back and having more grounded antagonists in WoW. They sort of lost me with the space travel last expac.
Legion was far more engaging on multiple levels. Dungeons were more fun, the story was better, the classes felt better. BFA has been disappointing so far. Art is great, but that simply isn’t enough.
I’m not even spending gold on a subscription at this point. Sad about the whole thing really.
Missions from BFA are so boring. In legion the missions are epics and very funny.
I’m leveling my alters with bgs in the stretch 110-120 xD
I don’t mind the questing, I think Legion as a whole was better but the Argus campaign was a bit much for me. BfA so far feels like a fantasy RPG and not whatever the game was trying to be when we flew a spaceship to Argus.
I will say that the story so far in BfA is much weaker than Legion. The entire faction war feels contrived, and even if it wasn’t contrived every major character is poorly written. The only bright spot on the horizon I see is Tyrande finally snapping out of that barbie girl persona in 8.1 and being returned to an actual faction leader.
Legion’s story was much more put together, I could follow it and it actually made sense. The major characters were believable, and it felt good to be a part of the story. I’m really not sure why we had to take a sudden reversal to all that with BfA.
I like BfA questing better than Legion’s. There are more zones, 3 alliance+3 horde vs 4 for everyone. There is more voice acting in BfA. And I really don’t need to think about AP (for the necklace) as much as in Legion (before catch-up was available).
I hate all the demons and orcs in this game so killing pigs is an improvement to me.
