Posted this in the main thread, but making this its own thread for potential visibility.
I did not remember correctly, and in Legion the BFA Prepatch announcement for PVPers (last chance to get your stuff/titles/etc) came with:
a.) no official date yet known
b.) only 12 days before the prepatch went live.
Source:
They warned PVPers about the end of season without giving a prepatch date. The date for the prepatch was not known at this point, per digging into Wowhead news archives (for anyone interested it is: www. wowhead. com/news=285381/legion-pvp-season-7-ending-soon-and-post-season-details [remove spaces by the periods]).
This announcement was on a Thursday, July 5th 2018, and the prepatch dropped on July 17th. 12 days warning, without a true date given in the Blue post.
They gave a full reset warning (which back then would’ve been the following Tuesday, July 10th), so it very well could be that the prepatch drops on 9/29.
Take this for what it’s worth, but wanted to provide some actual sources and links to people curious.
I could’ve sworn I remembered a 2-week announcement in Legion for BFA, but turns out memory is flawed.
This may be the closest we get to a “two-week notice.”
(for those wanting to dig more, follow the following wowhead link and scroll through the rescinding news list and see for yourselves. There was no official blue post, that I could find, about the prepatch [unless it’s been removed])
