During Argus Blizzard introduced a cinematic feature that would become a big part in BfA for the better. Its the tool that allows players to be a part of the cinematic that is rendered live which allows your player to have an active RP role in the events you see unfold.
During argus this meant that as a giant fist was going to crush everyone you got teleported out in a cinematic live rendered scene with your full transmog glory.
Now during the 8.3 cut scenes I see alot more of this being used… And I love it.
To be fair I vaguely remember a few of those scenes in prior BFA patches.
I want to commend the dev team in their approach to adding the player into the games cutscenes more. It was a big criticism of prior expansions but it looks like they found a balance to get this out to the players. Please keep doing this and if possible please give us a way to replay the cutscenes with new transmogs aka New Game Plus (picking a chapter you already played for the rp value).
Anyways nice job with that

yeah… but your character is still pretty irrelevant in them and nothing would change if it wasn’t there at all.
They should stop trying to do this in small stepps and either go full SWTOR/ffxiv or just remove player from important position but not really important because he doesn’t actually exist
Are transmogs important? Are titles important? Are achievements important? There is value in these aspects of the game. Before ffxiv rp was even a thing WoW RP was there. There is a huge population of wow players that play this game just to rp. There are others that appreciate it. This is such a huge game its disingenuous to just want to remove the player from these scenes after years of complaints from players that want to be in those scenes. I think you are in the minority here.

People want to be part of actual story, not just be there as extras
I’d like to see Blizz experiment with fully interactive story a la The Old Republic.

I love it, It makes me feel like I am a part of the story, like I am right there next to the main lore characters and Its very immersive. I wish more cut scenes had us in them.
I love them, first noticed them in Legion. I have a number of alts, it’s a reason to watch the cinematics after the 1st time.
Personally I find them a bit story-breaking but not a big deal anyway. I mean, sure I see myself…but I know “I” am not actually there.
In the end Magni, Jaina, Baine, and whoever else, have gone places, done things, likely bringing with themselves Alliane/Horde soldiers and/or adventurers.
I wish they would give you a warning so you can transmog out of your hodgepodge clown looking upgrade gear you just got right before the cut scene into your super cool transmog outfit.
