Why on earth is BFA flying tied to a grindy achievement still the case after DF release??
Dragonflight is here, flying in all other expansions is already unlocked minus the last expansion Shadowlands (which is still significantly nerfed and easy to get)
As a new player with a month old fresh account this is extremely disheartening. I really wanna experience BFA (2 expansions old now lol) but no way would I do anything in that expansion over others when I have flying everywhere else.
Shadowlands flying took a matter of hours for me to unlock at least make BFA pathfinder easier this must be an oversight.
Precisely this, unfortunately. Blizz between WoD-Shadowlands held the philosophy that players must be grounded, and as a result put roadblocks. They unlocked everything except for BfA, where new players play through the game to explore it for the first time just as people who first went into BfA did: without flying.
imo a good compromise is to unlock it 60 for the whole account after playing through it once.

I was hoping to start my run through BfA once they lifted the Pathfinder requirement, so I am sad to hear that it is still in place.
I just resubbed, so I’ll spend another month in Legion and clean some things up (and finish the raids that I could not do at level 50).
How long I stay will kind of depend on the BfA Pathfinder requirement. If BfA flight is still blocked after a month, I will cancel and wait it out… it might take a year or two, but it will happen eventually.
Till then, fingers crossed.

It is beyond ridiculous.
Ive done pretty much all quests but still need hundreds of dailies.
Its easier to get flying in the last xpac than the one from 2 ago.
The whole anti-flying mindset from Blizzard really baffles me. Yeah, I understand it’s different devs now than when TBC released with the first flying but it’s been around a long time now and it’s a convenient form of travel. \
When WoD released and they said no more flying I was hesitantly okay with it, until I got to certain zones which were a pain to travel on foot–looking at you Gorgrond!
IMO, it should either be no flying with relatively easy to navigate zones, or flying with the current system of challenging navigation–not both.
