Just wondering if I should bother with it. Thoughts?
It will take some time, but as a counter-point, 10.0 is gonna be a while too. BfA might not be current, however the ability to fly is extremely convenient and desirable. Thankfully my main is a Human, so that cuts down the grind a little bit.
Still, I’m debating whether it would be worth it right now, or if I should just wait for the 10.0 pre-patch when it may, hopefully, unlock automatically.
I would wait until 10.0 or whenever BfA flying is granted automatically. Now that you have a maximum level character, you can level everywhere else with Chromie time if you want. If you want to level lots of people in BfA soon, it might be good to get it now, ultimately it’s up to you. For me, I would just level everyone in the other xpacs with flying.

I would just do it now. It really wouldn’t take all that long. You can likely get it done within a couple weeks of some dailies for the reps. And then you can enjoy it for the entire next year while we wait for 10.0.
0 reason to go back to bfa stuff

It really depends upon what you want to do there. You don’t have to level in BFA, so if that’s your only goal, I’d just level on another continent. If you’re taking the completionist route and are looking to do/collect a lot of things all over the BFA zones, it will come naturally as you do that content.

This is the week to work on it. It’s WQ week, which means 50% more rep from WQs.

10.0 might be awhile. If you have the down time and want to do it, knock yourself out.

It’s really easy dude. Just do all the quests in the zones and you get up to honored. After that just do only the emissary of the zone if it’s up. People make pathfinder/AR reps out like they’re getting tortured, 9.1 archivist fit that well. Bfa reps do not.
I know it’s not torture. It’s just a tad laborious at times.

It’s 100% worth it to go ahead and grind out BFA pathfinder if you intend to revisit these old zones on any sort of regular ongoing basis.

I thought I was done today, then realized I didn’t see the grayed out Ankoan and Rustbolt rep that I had completely overlooked. It won’t take long, but I’m done at this point since I don’t go to those zones for anything other than the rep grinds.
I’m gonna give it a go. If it gets too annoying, I’ll just stop for a while.

It will get annoying to the extent that when you do finally finish, the accomplishment will be bittersweet because of how drawn out the process was to finish.
But… it’s still worth it to do.
10.0 isn’t going to be around for a good long while yet, and being able to fly in BFA zones is invaluable to anyone who will be doing things there.

If you spend a lot of time in bfa areas then you should do it now if not then dont bother till 10 .
just do it, it aint gonna get any easier, you’re earning convenience and nothing more, it is not a requirement to give you the right to fly everywhere.

… I mean, it literally could. That’s the point of this thread. It literally could be made easier by Blizzard, and likely WILL be made easier in 10.0. The real argument is whether it is worth waiting.
If you want to farm Zin’anthid you probably need to go ahead and get BFA pathfinding, or if you’re going to do BFA collection activities or unlocking allied races it may be worthwhile.

I already started days ago. I opened up Nazjatar yesterday. Given that BfA zones are devoid of players a vast majority of the time now, it shouldn’t be as laborious as it once was. Kinda wish I had more L25 battle pets though: the pet battles in Nazjatar would be very useful for rep gain.
Once 9.2 goes live, of course this will take a temporary backseat. I’d like at least one try at smiting Zovaal myself.

I sometimes feel like pathfinder is the only goal worth pursuing anymore.

I’m waiting myself - I’m on a new account after coming back, I did BfA pathfinder on a previous account and hated it, simply because of Naz’Jatar, the worst zone in the history of the game - until you get flying.
Since I’m on a totally new account, I ‘had’ to go through BfA for my first character, which I was ok with anyways since I wanted to get allied races. For just questing and such, there’s very little pain as far as navigation goes while questing.
Now, if the goal would be farming mats, pet battles, etc - then it might be worth it.
But for me, I’m content to wait until they give us BfA pathfinding automatically like they did with WoD & Legion - just like I will NOT set foot in the worst expansion for the game ever - Shadowlands. I will not purchase another XPac until SL is skippable/folded into Chromie Time.
There’s thousands of hours of content available (I’m working on allied races now, I already have all 5 alliance ones), and I’m only missing out on a lot of frustration by refusing to set foot in SL.
