I started a new alt and chose to level through BfA. Once I got to Cyrus’s office to choose which zone to start with only Tirigarde was available. I just figured that there was a specific flow they wanted us to follow and I did the Tirigarde quests. Once completed I went back to Cyrus’s office but the scouting map does not offer any other zones to begin questing in. Am I missing something?
Additionally was the War Campaign removed from the leveling aspect of BfA?
I had the same experience with the scouting map. I haven’t yet tried just going to another zone and seeing if all the quests are there anyway. War campaign always required certain minimum levels. It wouldn’t shock me if, like heart of Azeroth, they have it only available at 50 (or some other higher level).
I, too, am having this issue.
Only Tirisgard Sound was available, completed that campaign and now no campaigns are available from the scouting map.
Is there an update on this issue?
I figured out it’s because each zone now has a minimum level. I didn’t think to look at the top of the map to look for a level range, since I assumed they all scaled as they did prior to the patch. So, I just did some side quests until I hit 25 for Drustvar. Stormsong unlocks at 35.
thats normal u start tirisgar than on 24 u get drustvar than on 35 stormsong aslso be lucky u can atleast level in bfa mate tons of people still cant get tides of war quest to lvl in bfa
That’s needlessly stupid and annoying. My buddy finished Tiragarde Sound at around 21 (I was a 29 toon carried over from b4 the prepatch) and we couldn’t for the life of us figure out why he couldn’t select the next zone until he finally tracked down this forum.
First of all, you should be able to just keep going if you’ve completed the previous zone. Locking other zones behind specific levels interrupts the flow of leveling. If we need more quests/experience to get to 50 even after we’ve beaten the main zones then just let us finish it off at the end with the war campaign and/or the endgame zones.
Second, this is gonna a real pain to new players, who have no choice but to do the BFA zones first and won’t have a clue as to why they can’t progress. The game gave us no obvious indication that it was my buddy’s low level that was the reason he couldn’t pick the next zone. Lift the level lock on new zones, or at the VERY least put in some notification that tells players they’re too low level.

Thank god for this post! I just wrapped up the main story in Tiragarde sound. The Scouting map has a ! over it, but when I click on it there is nothing on the map. This is super frustrating. I have no idea why they changed BFA to not let you progress in any order to begin with.

The level requirement is just stupid, considering that you can’t choose a timeline if that’s your first character. They expect new players to grind until they reach a min-level that’s not stated somewhere around?
