BFA is over - opinion

As a returning player whose account in Cataclysm was deleted, I cameback at the end of Legion. I noticed a lot of different things which I could deal with, I was open to the new WoW, I played the last 2 months of Legion and then BFA came…

To tell you the truth I liked the story telling, the cinematics, and beleive it or not I am a fan of Allied races, if something kept me playing was the need to unlock Allied races, getting rep and completing the story to unlock them, while I think Island expeditions and Warfronts had potential but poorly excecuted and failed.

Although some people would and will disagree with me, I feel BFA changed their “faction vs faction” theme to “save Azeroth” because let’s face it, 8.0 had so many mad players, they had to make changes, this was just too weird for me, but whatever, if it makes wow better I am ok with, and it got better, I personally liked 8.2 and the Rise of Azshara theme and zone I loved it and played the heck out of that zone, while I disliked the Nzoth which could had been epic and even could had been expansion material, but again poorly excecuted and overused the “eye” stuff.

Did some raiding and dungeon finder stuff, no wow social life only the trade chat to talk about politics and no friends to play with because something I have noticed is that everyone is so elitist now days that it is impossible to have a good time with friends anyways, I give BFA a personal score of 6/10 a little above average but with too many problems like pvp vendors and no pvp gear, yeah I am an old wow player so.

For Shadowlands I just hope to have fun, I wish there were more Allied races and if Blizzard wanted to, they could add one allied race per covenant, but won’t happen. I am not excited about Covenants, I kinda don’t like any of them haha, so I’ll just go for whatever.

This is just a personal opinion if a dev wants an honest feedback and for anyone who wants to read a personal opinion from somebody else.

After the initial impression, i was incredibly bored after doing uldur.

What Blizzard gets right, they NAIL, art and music in particular.

Overall, though, BFA was one of the more forgettable expansions.

BfA was the only expansion besides Draenor that I found to be an utter fail. I haven’t really played in a year at this point. I’m going to give SL a chance but I don’t expect to be doing any raiding.

I literally left during the first raid tier because of how bored I was, guild had died and doing low lvl mythics got stale.

Came back a long while later when Mechagon/Naz came out, only to grind out the allied races I didn’t yet have.

Quit again because Corruption was just as bad as Azerite armor was.

Wondering if SL will share the same fate, with all its systems.

Yeah, I quit somewhere around March and only came back recently for the prepatch stuffs.

The frustration of 5 mask as a demo warlock, coupled with grinding for currency to buy currency for another currency just killed it for me.

I agree corruption was bad, the Nzoth theme had to be an expansion not a bad executed patch with a horrible death of an old god, it had to be epic but oh well, and the corruption system was bad I didn’t like it.

The return of PVP vendors is already a huge improvement. The BFA slot machine giving me the same item two weeks in a row but a lower ilvl than the previous week was a miserable experience.

Yea, it’s over, but we’ll miss some perks no doubt. for how long, who knows. Island expeditions almost had viability as a 120 catchup (which supercedes both wq’s & icc) if Blizz had not, unofficially, stripped it of conquest rewards. And, for those who love torture, there’s always the remaining relevance of visions to socket bfa gear or get 125’s on 5 masks. Thirdly, for those lucky enough to have access to a good group, mythic Nya may still have relevance, hitting all the way to 140. Other than these three, however, & who knows if Shadow will ever rewards to top them anytime soon, Bfa, at least a good 70-80% of its content, will probably be as good as obsolete from the get-go, with Shadow, as far as rewards, or upping mains or alts, are concerned.

Corruption were fun even if they were beyond broken and that was pretty much the only good part out of BFA.

Having full Leech or versatility corruption on all pieces of gear and have a character that was nearly immortal was pretty fun.

Opinion: Don’t know that I will miss any aspect from BfA in the long run. I’m already used to not having twilight dev. I expect not having azerite traits or essences will be real weird, so we will see exactly how weird.

Thing is, I still miss specific artifact traits; for me, that transition was way more jarring.

Thanks BfA, at least I had fun.

meh. I played it a lot. I’m in for SL.

BFA wasn’t that bad. We’ve just been doing the same content since January, so people are burned out.

At the end of the day, BfA was just another expansion that had a lot of flaws, but still had a lot to enjoy. I still believe allied race grinds were some of the dumbest decisions Blizzard has made in this game to date (grind out reps to unlock another grind! So rewarding!), and there was a lot to dislike about Azerite armor, but the zones, quests, and art direction are far and away some of the best this game has seen.

Ultimately, BfA was neither great or bad. It was just okay. For some people, that’s probably not enough, but it still gave me a reason to login everyday, and it certainly doesn’t warrant labeling it as one of the worst expansions Blizzard has made. Not when we have expansions like Cataclysm and Warlords of Draenor.

I liked the story, the new zones, and the questing was fine. But what killed the fun for me was the obvious time sinks made by adding excessive systems. Horrific visions might have been fun without all the hoop jumping involved. Corruption, along with the 1995 level graphics in which it was rendered on characters, was just plain awful and annoying.

BfA was awful in every way except the artwork

Constantly doing the same thing a million times hoping for a McForge was soul crushing.

Islands were disappointing

Warfronts were a joke

Massive borrowed power

The story wasnt even coherent.

Overall BFA for me was one of the better expansions. As a collector I had so much to get and do. From the Nazjatar/Mechagon metas to things like the bee. While this is minor to some it was major to me to see such giant metas for zones that rewarded mounts, this hasn’t really been done before. The Allied Race system as it is, is very good and definitely had great incentive to keep playing as I did get all 10 heritage sets for them. Heritage armor in general is just a nice/neat concept.

The biggest problem BFA had I think over all other than ridiculous and absurd gearing acquistion and system implementation was just the fact that it is the longest WoW expansion to date, ever. And it is the longest time period for WoW overall and that will leave a sour taste in peoples mouths for years to come. I think though in a few years some of us might look back and remember some of the greater moments in the story and lore and ARs and appreciate it. For now though, its been a VERY long time period in WoW and I am very ready for Shadowlands.

Season 1 sht season 2 extra sht season 3 double extra sht combo large season 4 a lot of fun but none the less sht

Warfronts were pretty bad, even with a big reward for doing the heroic version (or mythic i dont remember), i barely did them. Islands were terrible in the beginning, especially with the no details given, “you just have to guess how they work!” from Blizz was stupid. after it became easier to know how to get the drops and the added crates, Islands became much more fun personally.

i dont like dungeons or raids, so i wont comment on those, but the regular casual stuff, i liked and it kept me busy and occupied. i raised my battle pet standing and collection greatly, and gold wise, while i didnt make bank, im still about 600k higher than where i started the expansion, while spending about 1mill in the BMAH and on rep mounts.

so BFA wasnt great, but it wasnt terrible like WoD was.

I quit BfA 5 weeks into the expansion. Never went back. IMO, worse than WoD.
