BfA is bad. There is no arguing that. However to all the people saying it is worse than Warlords of Draenor, I gotta say you’re wrong.
6.1 was a major patch, which usually means a new raid and other content. We got a selfie camera and twitter integration and they cut a raid tier. An entire raid tier.
BfA is second worst expansion at the worst. Nothings gonna be worse than WoD.
It’s like people are trying to prove something by comparing trash expansion together, there’s not much to point out. The only thing I see at this point is spam or bait.
Not really. WoD was better than Bfa not because of the things they did in it, but rather the things they didn’t.
Back in WoD the main game systems (character progression and class gameplay) were not butchered as much. Sure there was a lack of content overall but the main pillars of the game were still functional.
Now there’s a bunch of trivial things (islands, world quests, war fronts, etc.) but the pillars of the game (glass gameplay and gearing) have been destroyed. Simply put, WoD was better for the things that matter and Bfa is better for the things that kinda don’t.
Orcs probably will disagree about how much damage to the lore WoD did, honestly. They went from ‘peaceful shamanistic race corrupted by demons’ to ‘yeah we were always warmongering savages we just needed that little push.’
In terms of comparing the two on a more structured level, leveling experience I would say both were pretty amazing at launch, Blizzard has only improved the leveling experience for their new expansions… at least the first go around.
I think the real culprit that sets the two apart is class design and general minute to minute gameplay. WoD was the first prune, but it still had some solid class design to it, and a fairly clearcut gearing system and PVP system, and was also bereft of some of the weirder decisions the devs made, such as not allowing us to buy the prior PVP season’s sets, and not having a PVP vendor, and locking so many appearances behind RNG. It just adds up, so that even though BfA has far more content, people find it a chore to play when their classes are less engaging.
That’s less lore and more story stuff, I thought you were referring to retcons and altering established race tropes in the game.
Worse story, yes, I’ll agree with you there, except for the initial leveling experience and the Daughter of the Sea and Zandalar Forever chains. Those I feel were some of the best work they’ve done, and it’s baffling to me how they managed to muck up everything else.
War Campaigns and literally all the overarching stuff? Yes, yes much worse.
