Any word on if flying will be available without doing the pathfinder anytime soon? Was hoping the launch of Dragonflight would remove that, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

I want to know about this too. I actually came back to WoW because of an article that said this was going to happen as I have no interest in playing without flying. I’ve been killing time waiting for the launch to start BFA but now it seems like I resubbed for nothing.

I hope so too. Last time I looked I noped myself out of that goal real quick. Pointlessly long.

I can understand when it’s a player’s first time through, but Flight unlocks as it is at 30 and you get faster speeds at 40.
So if you’re pushing players through the BFA leveling track by default, why are you denying flight to players who do not already have the meta achievements necessary to unlock BFA flying? Once a new player hits 60, I guarantee they’re going to completely forget about BFA and just move on to the next level of content.
I guess you could go Chromie Time into a different expansion, and that might be the easiest solution, but that’s simply a work-around and shouldn’t be the intended first impressions to a new player who might want to be able to fly.

i’m guessing maybe with the next expansion after Dragonflight? i was hoping to have flying unlocked for BfA areas as well, but after reading your comment OP, that’s not the case. guess i won’t be doing quests there any time soon either.

There was an article on GameRant I believe and they said the requirement for pathfinder would be removed so you can fly in BfA. But I’ve checked a few times since DF launch and I still can’t fly. Not sure if it’s actually going to happen any time soon or not.

New players also get the quest to go learn flying at 30, they go spend their cash in SW or Org, and then find they still can’t fly in the only levelling zones available to them.
I’m trying to get my nephews into WoW and getting them through bfa is proving to be a very buggy and frustrating experience. Very off putting for new players.

No flying in nazjatar sucks when trying to get the scuttler. The idea of doing that pathfinder crap is so unbelievably unappealing since I have no idea when they’re going to remove the requirements.
